And Journey 3 is supposed to come out this weekend...as announced in 2014.
He can wear that Adam shirt to bed, it won't change a thing. WB has had a decade of opportunities to move forward with him and they don't because it was a New Line deal signed from when he was a gamble. It's not a WB deal. It's a New Line contract. They did the same thing with Iron Man; shelve it so it doesn't interfere with the in-house WB projects.
Seriously, you don't want him to be Black Adam. WB will make Black Adam more important to Shazam than Shazam is. From what was said years ago, they viewed Adam as an anti-Shazam, not an actual villain. So he'll become Winter Soldier and team with Shazam to take on Sivana. Then they'll announce a Black Adam spinoff and forget Shazam.
Everything rests on Suicide Squad. If it's not huge, the breaks will be hit. That's not my opinion, that's the trades. To make 2019, they'll have to start announcements by early fall to shoot in a year. In the meantime, Rock has announced, in the past three months San Andreas 2, Rampage, and just this week, a Jumanji remake.
...I do like how Rock mentioned he wanted to play Namor. I knew that years ago, when Arad ran Marvel, but they wanted Daniel Day Lewis or DiCaprio. Namor never went forward because of Marvel, not Universal. Universal wanted to do Aqua-LOTR with Rock and Marvel stopped it all.Comment
