Battle of the Planets by Ceji Arbois

I've been on kind of a Battle of the Planets jag these past few weeks and here's one of my favourites, the 3 3/4" action figure line.

Originally made by Popy Japan, these figures were later sold in Europe in sets or on individual cards by companies like Ceji Arbois and Jecsan. They even added characters!

Sadly, no toy company thought to bring these to our shores but there is always Ebay to soothe the burn....

I would have gone crazy trying to get those back then if they were sold here! That was a favorite after school cartoon.

I have to think that the toyline would have sold very well back then, the show really saturated the syndicated market in a manner that predates Filmation's success with Masters of the Universe.

Never understood why they didn't bring the toys here. If we weren't playing as this on the playgrounds back in the day,we were playing as Batman.

I know that 7-ZARK-7 was reused for Airgam Boys Space Serie.

Aside from the lunchbox and model kit and color book I don't recall any BOTP merchandise and I was a huge fan of the show.

I would have loved those as a kid. The only BOTP merchandise I ever saw was colouring books, Gold Key comics and View-Master reels.

Somebody needs to make a whole set of these (and include the other characters); retro 3.75".
