Bill Murray did not want to do a sequel. So that was never going to happen no matter how badly Dan Aykroyd wanted it to. As a show of support for the new movie Murray did film a cameo as new character.

A complete wreck of a disaster. You know you had a Titanic stink bomb when Sony shuts down its comment section on various websites regarding the trailer. I predict this movie will be as popular as JEM the movie and a Madonna movie. People aren't giving it "hate" but just expressing how they feel regarding these pointless desecrations of the classic movies. Im just going to save my pennies and watch a cartoon and buy the Ghostbusters figures instead!Comment

I recently discovered by chance Kristen Wiig watching on youtube the presentation at the Golden Globes 2013 with Will Ferrell. I've seen the scene ten times and still laugh a lot. So great both! What are her best movies to enjoy more of her talent as a comedian?Comment

The problem is that this song is not clever or smart in any way, nor is it even somewhat cognizant of the original song's concept.
The original was simply a "Ghostbusters Infomercial in song form".
If you're gonna remake that song in this new version of the movie... it's something to at least ATTEMPT to integrate.

I think there's a chance Murray would have done it if the script were to his liking.... seems (according to accounts of script shredding, etc) Aykroyd was sending Murray a lotta lame screenplay stuff.
