Was the perforated hanger on WGSH boxes consistently the same size throughout their issue? I recently noticed that the hanger perforation isn't as wide on my Falcon box as it is on the others. It was sold to me as an original non repro box, but I've been finding some repros lately with the perforation.

falcon repro.jpg
I found this one on an auction. The seller states it's a reproduction. I examined mine closer last night as well. The box has a very old smell. Lots of wear marks. The cello feels and looks correct. It definitely looks aged, but the hanger isn't as wide as it should be imo. The cuts on the flaps are clean and rounded, etc. Unfortunately, my eyes have gotten worse as I age and it was just a freak chance that I noticed it didn't appear as wide. Making something look old isn't that hard so it's possible that I'm a victim of a forgery. I bought the Falcon almost a year ago from eBay.
Falcon's hanger is 7/8" wide by 3/4" long. All my other boxes are approximately 1" wide by 7/8" long. It's looking more like a forgery than a hanger size variation.Last edited by ignignokt; Feb 9, '16, 1:10 PM.We're going to sodomize our vast imaginations with this pornography. -Ignignokt -
20160210_154406.jpg20160210_154401.jpgI hate to ask this, but can someone please measure the perforated hanger area on their Falcon box(es) and post back? I just need confirmation. I know paypal isn't going to touch it, but this is will be the second time this seller has sent me "goods not as described". He'll probably get to keep the money, but if it's a repro I'm sure everyone here would like to know. I guess the repro market is getting that good that I'm going to have to go over every purchase with a fine tooth comb even if they have 100% feedback.
There is the possibility that the seller was fooled as well, but either way I need to know.Last edited by ignignokt; Feb 10, '16, 4:47 PM.We're going to sodomize our vast imaginations with this pornography. -IgnignoktComment

Obviously, I would prefer to handle the specimen in person to 100% Confirm or Deny, but I would say, "Fret not. You're good."
For what it's worth…

Really!? I can't get a better opinion than that. Just as a precaution, I hope someone else will measure theirs. I really find it odd that out of all my boxes I could reach (9 I believe) this one is the only hanger that size. Maybe they used this smaller hanger on supergal boxes? I have a Catwoman somewhere...
Edit: I just checked and Catwoman is the same size. I even checked my Western Heroes and they're even smaller and more rectangular. My Knights are buried in my storage room as well as my OZ boxes...Last edited by ignignokt; Feb 10, '16, 8:30 PM.We're going to sodomize our vast imaginations with this pornography. -IgnignoktComment

Two of these reproductions with hanger tabs in two weeks is enough for me. This one is more obvious:

Reproductions are fine as long as they're sold as reproductions.
Coincidentally the Lizard box in my post above is an error boxed Lizard as well. You can use it for comparison on the perforation.Last edited by ignignokt; Feb 11, '16, 1:14 PM.We're going to sodomize our vast imaginations with this pornography. -IgnignoktComment

After reading this post, I had to go look through my boxed figures. I had two original circle logo Falcon boxes which both had the smaller perforation you mentioned. I then went through the other hero boxes from the same wave (since they were in the same box) and did not find another to have the smaller perforation. The "M" logo Falcon box I had also had the normal sized perforation.
As to why the Falcon box has a smaller perforation, it is probably just variation in the perforation tooling. Thinking about how these boxes were printed and die-cut, it does make sense that it would be limited to Falcon boxes, but would also mean there are probably others to have this smaller perforation. I'll stop now before everyone falls asleep.
The smaller/squarer perforation found on the Super Foe, Western Heroes boxes, etc. has a totally different design. There are actually a few WGSH boxes (other than the Super Foes) that contain this perforation design. I have a few, but still need a few more.
