I had a bunch of those. The Missing Link, Rubik's Cube, Rubik's Snake and The Orb by Parker Brothers.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I remember a kid in high school could complete the Rubik's cube in about 60 seconds, they say there's a method
of doing it in about 10 moves.

I was never very good at them. They only one I could ever solve was the Missing Link.

          Had/have those three plus:
          Rubic's revenge, the 4x4 cube,
Alexandar's star google it to hard to describe,
and Tomy's Mega Minx a 12 sided polyhedral where the 12 sides were pentagon shaped.

Those three plus the snake thing. I still have my cube and my missing link, the others are gone.

I had Rubick's Cube and Pyraminx (I solved Pyraminx but never the cube). These things are a big fad for my son right now.

We had the cube and missing link.

My grandpa used to sit at the kitchen table and play with the cube. I think he finally solved it like 2 yrs later.

Us teens/kids in the house just took it apart and put it back together.

I had Rubix and Pyraminx when they originally came out.

I remember around 1981, one rainy afternoon at our summer house, I got frustrated with Rubix, went off to a dark corner, and took it apart to complete it. I then proceeded to parade around bragging that I had solved it in near record time. My upright WASPy grandfather immediately sat me down and gave me a stern lecture on the importance of modesty and truthfulness. I could never get anything past him...

I had Rubik's Cube and Missing Link, already mentioned. I also had Whip It...

                        and the Snake...

and in a similar vein, but a bit tangential, one of the golf tee peg puzzle games bought at a roadside restaurant on a vacation road trip...

Rubik's Cube, and a small keychain version of Pyraminx.

(I remember getting the Rubik's Cube free from a large book store with the purchase of a Broom-Hilda paperback in '83... I guess they must have had a surplus of cubes!)

I hated the Orb. It seemed to be the most desperate cash grab of them all.
