    Lucifer, anybody watching?

Watched the premier episode last night and I really liked it, it was fun and entertaining. I thought Tom Ellis did a great job, and the rest of the cast seems to be pretty solid too: Lauren German, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachel Harris & D. B. Woodside. The chemistry is there. If the writers can keep up the witty dialogue & character intrigue, I think this show could really make a go of it.

    Favorite quotes from last nite:

"Hideous little creatures. Terrible, taxing burdens"
"I'm like walking heroin, very habit forming. It never ends well"
"Buy yourself something pretty to wear"

I watched in when it got it "leaked" pilot out and again last night. It does not follow the comic book much like iZombie but it does seem a little fun to watch. Of course I will be watching the show so that I can add it to my site even if it is another cop show.

I watched the premiere last night and loved it. I really was not expecting the humor. I have never read any of the comics. I hope it lasts for a while.

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

The upcoming scenes for the season give me the impression that this show will quickly move beyond the typical cop show format. Once the demons start running amok in Lucifer's absence, I'm hoping the police aspect falls into the background as the lead detective is drawn more deeply into the supernatural.

I know you're a big fan of Supernatural, was wondering if you caught the "dig" that Supernatural's Lucifer got in last week's episode when Sam asks him what he'd do after he "ganks" the darkness and he shrugs, "Move to LA, solve crimes?". Thought that was funny (also liked the viagra joke in last night's episode).

Hope it gets a fair chance to find a solid audience.

Are The Endless off limits? Or are, perhaps, variations on The Endless possible?

Gaiman, Mike Carey and Peter Gross have been very supportive of the show
We haven't even asked, because we wanted to really establish Lucifer as is. It's definitely, as we start moving forward, something that we can start having conversations about. I don't know. We were just so focused on letting Lucifer stand on his own feet. Believe me, it's tempting to try. We made a very conscious decision: this is Lucifer's story, let's not muddy the waters yet. But if DC's willing, how would you not want to play with those? But we don't know.
Comic Book Resources has a great interview with the executive producer and showrunner Joe Henderson about Lucifer and it does sound better than the cop show that was presented. Episode 2 comes on tonight!

The second episode did indeed play better and Lucifer still has his bad side to him.

Just finished episodes 1 and 2 and I've liked what I've seen so far. This Lucifer is definitely the personification of the old phrase "the Devil is very charming man" (at least to everyone except Detective Decker anyway, but the two of them still have a smoldering chemistry). He's not quite as smarmy as Crowley, SUPERNATURAL's current "King of Hell" and not quite as dry Lucifer himself on SPN; kind of strikes a happy medium between the two (IMHO). Production values seem decent and it's always good to see some scumbags actually get what's coming to them, so I'll continue to watch. Makes me think that had "Constantine" aired on FOX, we might still be enjoying it (although I could easily see old Johnny-boy making a guest appearance on Lucifer at some point in the future).

Liked the comic...but that might be out of the collection soon. Prices are ridiculous on issue 1 and Sandman 4 prices have gone insane too. As for the series...pass. Now if there was a Sandman show...I'm there!

I am sorry but this weeks episode was almost boring. If this show does not bring in more from the actual comic book it may go away. You know it bad when I say I my just stop watching any comic book show.

I keep waiting for Lucifer to do something really evil, even if only to a bad guy. But he just keeps on being nice. Like on last night's show, I thought they'd show Lucy or Maze doing something to the imposter guy afterwards. I realize as the star he needs to be appealing, but as the Devil he needs more badness. Sneaky badness maybe, but more than just being a rich club guy. There's enough of those in the real world.

Not familiar with the comic but I enjoyed the first episode very much. Good laughs, witty dialogue.
