The evil twin thing is my fav. Slap on a goatee and BOOM evil twin.

I mean come on! Who can forget Garth from Knight Rider?
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Candy store gets used as a front for crime bosses and they all eat peanuts or drink warm milk.

My personal favourite is the "backdoor pilot" where they showcase unrelated characters for an episode and end with the stars saying something like " I can"t wait to see your adventures".

Huggy Bear had one and if I recall CHIPS did one about secret agents with powers (!).
The Hulk had that weird pilot episode with Rick Springfield being Master of Kung Fu or whatever. And Gerald McRaney was his brother!

One they still use today is the one where a family member comes to visit, they don't know what they really do for a living and lie about it.

Yeah, I knew you had to like that one Sharry.

It's not bad. I would have watched that show. But it seems a bit shoehorned into a Hulk plot.

After watching the second seasons of Greatest American Hero and Six Million Dollar man recently they used more than few of the cliches listed.

It seems like every third episode of SMDM has a turncoat OSI agent. Oscar needs to screen his people better.

                        The UFO or alien episode

The lead character goes blind then gets back sight at the end.

The lead character gets hit by car or bullet then becomes paralyzed and in a wheel chair then regains use of legs later on.

Oh forgot the lost child / orphan that is witness to crime.
Also the race care driver committing crimes and getting away plot.

The recently paroled ex con out for revenge on the cop that locked him up.

The twin brother of a criminal the cops killed seeking revenge.

The one with Dan Tanner driving his red convertibile down vegas blvd with a Lion in the passenger seat.
has nothing to do with the actual post, but I just wanted to mention it.
