Did you own a cap gun ?

My Ma would never let me get a cap gun because she thought they were dangerous.

Luckily it never bothered me much because I really wasn't into toy guns -- gimme a phaser an day

My Mom actually had a cap gun when she was little. She and my grandfather loved watching westerns together.

I think I had maybe one. I was way more into toy laser guns that had lights and sounds. I had the Kenner Han Solo blaster and the Mattel Battlestar Galactica laser.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I had cap guns, and other toys that you could put the caps in, like little bombs. Also, we liked to light the caps on fire, as well as smash a big roll of them with a hammer. I was a little bit of a pyro.

I had a Lone Ranger set, two pistols, holsters, belt and mask.

My dad sold Caps, he had the exclusive on a line from Spain, looked like little plastic bullets that made a huge bang. I still have a display of the guns in my office.

The RCMP confiscated his remaining inventory in the late 1980s as the stuff was gun powder.

Always had cap guns around, and still have a couple of them. I can smell the caps after they were fired even now....

              That's interesting

The only ones I remember seeing came in a long red paper roll (similar to old movie tickets)

I had lots of those mini missles/rockets. You'd put a cap in the tip and toss 'em up, the cap going off when they hit the ground. I remember even using rocks to blast the red strips of caps. I think i may have had a gun at some point, but I wasn't really into Westerns or the toys they inspired.

I had a Lone Ranger cap gun when I was around 6 or 7, it was cool because the holster had a little silver bullet in a loop that you could remove. I remember thinking it was real silver. It used those long red strips of caps. And I had a bunch of those little rockets that you threw up in the air too. Caps were so fun, kids today are missing out.

Oh yeah!!! We were well-armed at all times.

I bought my daughter a cap gun for her birthday, and believe me, it is difficult to find roll caps these days. I'm sad to report, either I got a bad batch, or they just don't make 'em like they used to. Lots of silent misfires, and the ones that did pop were very quiet.

My brothers and I had them. Mine was a silver gun w/ a fake pearl handle w/ a bovine on it. And we had rolls of the red cap paper.

I had all kinds. My favorite was the musket rifle one I had. You could only fire one cap at a time but it was still fun.
