    Hulk Manga 1970's

it stars Dr. Araki, survivor of Hiroshima. Both of his parents died in the blast, and he’s come to Nevada to work on the gamma bomb. General Ross, Major Talbot, and Igor retain their names, but Rick Jones has been turned into Ricky Tenda. He’s got a Japanese mom and an American dad. Betty Ross is now Mitsuko, though Dr. Araki calls her Mitchan.

Hulk: The Manga is a Japanese manga re-telling of The Incredible Hulk within a Japanese setting. It was originally published in Japan in 1970 in Weekly Bokura Magazine and written by Kazuo Koike of Lone Wolf and Cub fame, with art by Yoshihiro Morifuji (also the artist on Microman, the Japanese version of Micronauts). At the time, Marvel Comics was attempting to introduce some of their super-hero concepts to Japan, by having Japanese creators produce their own unique stories loosely based around the characters.

Weird how you can still see the Herb Trimpe influence in the Hulk figures! I had no idea Japan had a "different" Hulk.

So this means that the artist of Crying Freeman worked on the Spider-Man Manga around the same period as the Crying Freeman writer was working on the Hulk Manga.
