Liquid is better. A little goes a long way. Try a little baby shampoo or really mild dish detergent. Squeeze out a little blob and work it into the fibers with a little water. Try rinsing in cold water, but don't leave it to soak. Once all the suds are gone and the water runs clear, blot dry with first a paper towel, then a clean fabric towel. Then, leave it to air dry.out of the sun.

In addition, please consider washing suits inside out. It minimizes any scrubbing or wear and tear on the outside material or lithograph.

Don't use anything like a nail brush, those are too harsh on the fibers.

Use a baby's toothbrush with VERY soft bristles, it is way less damaging.

If using Oxiclean, make sure you wash each color separately.

Soaking a full suit in Oxiclean could cause the colors to bleed into each other.

And be extra careful when is a suit is printed (Spiderman, Neptunian etc)

Hand-washing in degreasing dish-soap with tepid water is a miracle worker. Also, blot and air-dry the clothing.
