    Jose Delbo Wonder Woman commision

Title says it all, I commissioned an original Wonder Woman drawing from the guy I consider THE Wonder Woman artist of the 70's Jose Delbo. He went above and beyond what I asked for and it's incredible that he's still this good in his 80's.

Nice. It took me 30 + years to get a sketch...and it was Rich Buckler doing a headshot of Deathlok. Now that you got this one out of the way...make a list of what you'd like to get done by who. That's fun.

Haven't met Jose yet. I know what I would get autographed by him though...The Beatles Yellow Submarine Comic Book. He drew that one

Thanks. I got this through his website, didn't actually meet him. He's actually going to be doing a con in Massachusetts in November but I knew I wouldn't be able to get something this detailed there.

Nice! I think Delbo gets overlooked, but he did solid work, and it is amazing that he can still draw at that level today!

        Congrats!

Nice stuff! Not sure what I'll go for next. While I found a spot for this, as always space is an issue and I'm not going to confine any original art to the pages of a binder. I will say right now at least, I'm more interested in "signature" artists for my favorite characters. Buying a Neal Adams head drawing of Batman is what led to me to want his and think about this theme. If I decided to clear out one of my other displays in favor of original art I may consider current artists.

I'd love to have a Neal Adams piece side-by-side with an Ivan Reis piece just for the contrast and comparison between the two. Though not nearly as highly regarded (right now) as Adams, Reis' does take a lot of his visual cues from Adams' work, at least IMHO...

Reis is doing a better Adams than Adams nowadays...
