    Frank Miller's The Spirit

The Spirit (2009) - Dark Horizons

Some images from the Spirit, I really hate that Miller has decided to give the character an all black outfit as opposed to the original blue. Why? He doesn't look any less ridiculous and kind of says that Miller is changing the material, something that bothers me considering he himself is a comic creator.

It doesn't look too good with the green screen at the moment but I'm sure it'll look better on the big screen. Miller's giving it the same feel and look as Sin City right? I guess he's trying to give it a noir tone, which you can't do with a bright blue suit.

That's the thing that bothers me, it isn't Sin City, it's supposed to be the Spirit. I get this vision of it being more like something Miller wrote than Eisner's character, if you haven't guessed I don't Frank Miller.....

That's true, I know the comics have a gritty feel but they were colourful with it too. It's a bit silly to change the iconic look of the character, as then you're not being faithful to it.

It's like some studio exec wanting to change Supermans costume black and red. It just doesn't look right at all.

That was fast - the pic is already gone by request of Lionsgate Films

I like Frank Miller, but only when he's doing his own stuff. I'm kind of worried about his take on the Spirit.

Did Miller know the official title is Will Eisner's The Spirit??

I didn't get a chance to see the pics but isn't it possible that the Blue could be added later with computers? Since Sin City/300 are was mostly CGI? and this is how he does his films now.....

He did it because "I'm Frank Miller, Dammit!"

That is actually not a bad point it may be that an actual Blue suit is a tech issue to to the computer based color washes later (I hope) but I tend to think this is Frank's take

Maybe they'll retitle the pic to "Frank Miller's Will Eisner's The Spirit"?

Dont worry, when the toy line hits, Spirit will be wearing suits in every color under the sun!
