I think we all felt the avalanche coming several months ago.

Christopher Lee, Nimoy, Grace Lee Whitney, Ellie May Clampett (Donna Douglas), Nigel Terry, Gary Owens, Miss Marple, Rod Taylor, Anne Meara, Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, Hiroshi Koizumi (lead actor for several Godzilla movies)....

Rest in Peace Wes Craven. I enjoyed the Elm St. flicks as a teen. Couldn't find the pic of when I did the full Freddy makeup, but here's a little tribute from me years ago.

        R.I.P Wes.

Truly sad news. Thank you very much for A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Had no idea he was ill. Pretty bummed, he was one of my favorite directors.

              Didn't see this coming.
But let's face it, the true Masters of Horror are all of that same generation: Carpenter, Romero.

Just yesterday, I was on the phone with my buddy Scott in Vegas, and we were discussing their age.
Our genre has suffered another loss.

I loved "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Scream." I also enjoy the new show!! I cannot believe I never tried to get his autograph??? I wrote John Carpenter years ago (and got his), another one of my favorite directors, but somehow missed writing him. What an excellent director and a huge loss for horror fans!

                  I'm surprised he was 76

                  Thought he was younger

The original "Nightmare" is still one heckuva horror film. I enjoyed "Wes Craven's New Nightmare" as well. Very meta for a horror film. He seemed like he had a nice, dark sense of humor as well. RIP.

Crap, very sad to hear, I'm a fan of many of his films.

He wrote and directed the original 1982 Swamp Thing movie a cult classic!

I'd say Guillermo del Toro sort of holding the torch a bit nowadays, at least for this generation.

The country doing the best horror movies today are coming from Spain, no doubt. I think Japan's horror flicks are pretty much looking the same now, losing their effects.

                            RIP Mr Craven

The Nightmare and Scream series were great but my absolute favorite of his was The People Under The Stairs. Rest in peace Mr. Craven.
