    The Monster Club (1980)

I have soft spot for Milton Subotsky's last feature, it retains that Amicus flavour nicely. Full movie on Youtube

"A Village of Monsters?" I had the last segment taped on VHS for years and I loved the Ghoul story. Maybe because of the story artwork but I thought it was great and watched it many times. I didn't see the rest of the movie until years later and thought the other stories were quite weak. I would love to see a serious remake of that movie.

I have the blu ray of this film. It has some high points, and then some other parts.

The ghoul segment was my favorite, too. I remember reading of this film in Famous Monsters and watching it on HBO.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

What is not to love about that story (SPOILERS)..........

Kind preacher convinces villagers to take in a creature, clean and feed it, and then find out it is going out to the graveyard at night to dig up the dead and eat the flesh from their bones. The villagers drive it off, but it returns with more of its kind and takes over the village.

The illustrations were done by artist John Bolton especially for the Humgoo episode of the film, and he subsequently did a comic book adaptation of the entire movie because producer Milton Subotsky didn't have the money for any other publicity. Bolton did some superb work for House of Hammer
