My eagle eyes immediately spotted some Johnny Action WWII boxes:

I wonder what they are doing there?
Maybe it has to do with the German distributor of GI Joe, Schildkrot, being also the distributor for the Lion Rock WWII figures?
That's probably why most of them are lying on top of the ACTION TEAM sets?
Would love to see those more clearly. One of them is the "SCOTSGUARD".

Heh, I remember buying a few Super Joe outfits and accessories when I was a kid and dressing up my Megos in them (I didn't have any actual Super Joe figures), they fit just fine, I got a lot of play value out of them!
Same here. And I still need to get a blue sea sled and reunite it with Mego Aquaman. Lots of tub time adventures.

here's what was said about the flood on the trenches. apparently this was posted on FB about those photos

"There was a flood that destroyed the packaging archive, not sure on the date but though it was in late '70s or early '80s, which is how the '60s & '70s package paintings got tossed out (and subsequently fished out of the trash and into collectors hands eventually). But the product shown here was not victim of a flood - was later transferred to the Archives"

Mesmerizing. Are other toy companies this foresightful? Mego wasn't, but I bet Mattel has a Barbie archive.

i think the flood only wrecked 60s stuff. a few of the meager examples in the pics look water damaged.

weird thing is, I seem to recall James Desimone, who wrote one of the Joe identification guides, that many collectors use, had donated many pieces to Hasbro for them to make the reproductions in the late nineties. why would they have needed him to do that if they have all this stuff archived?

^ So it could stay archived, I assume. (No sarcasm intended.) I recall reading that, too. I know he said he opened sets for his 12" identification guide--perhaps those are what he donated?

or the sixties stuff was actually damaged in flood as some posts suggested

They lost mostly 1960s stuff in the flood so that is probably what James Desimone donated.

This is simlply beyond comprehension. I can't even imagine how I'd react if there was a Mego morgue somewhere (though I'm still fantasizing there's several pallets of Megos trapped in the tunnel sealed off at the Long Island warehouse!).
                        WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.
