New Wet Hot American Summer series

Anybody else watching this? I'm a big fan of the original movie and I was initially kind of worried they'd replace the original cast.

Seeing them in their forties playing teenagers as opposed to their early thirties, somehow really makes it funnier. I'm serioury enjoying iy. Michael Showalter especially isn't pulling off 16 anymore.

If you liked the original film, check it out. If you don't like the original, stay away because it's more of the same.

yeah, just noticed it on Netflix. Great seeing Bob Belcher in something besides voice acting.

huge fan of the original as well. Seen it countless times. I'm only on episode 3 of the series but I've been laughing my butt off.

I'm gonna have to watch this. I love Netflix so much for a lot of the original series they end up doing.

Five episodes in so far and I am loving this! I think I like it better than the original film even.

LOVED IT - my wife and I binged the whole thing last weekend. I was already a fan of the movie, but I think Chris is right, the show is even better.

"Hurricane of Fun: The Making of Wet Hot American Summer" is also on Netflix now. It's really fun to see the whole cast at the start of their careers.

"They Came Together" was a recent David Wain movie starring Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler that I also liked. Same style of humor, but more of a direct parody of typical romantic comedies. Personally, I could watch Rudd and Poehler goof around for hours.

Currently been binge watching these on Brazoo's suggestion. At first it was a bit What The?! but then you kind of settle into how crazy and off kilter this series is. Looking forward to getting through the rest of them and then watching the original movie and Making Of.

Thanks for those reccomendations, blew through the series pretty quickly, left wanting more.

David Wain's "The Ten" is another underrated comedy and I'm the only guy I know that loved "Stella".

I'm curious, is this new series filmed in the same locations as the original? I was surprised to learn recently that the original was actually filmed around Honesdale, PA, which was the closest large town to Lake Wallenpaupack, where my family's summer house was when I was a kid, and where we frequently went shopping, saw drive in movies, etc. during the exact era that the movie is supposed to be portraying! I then also found out that the whole thing is actually supposed to be in the Belgrade lakes area around Waterville, Maine, where many of my relatives are originally from, and where they also owned lake houses in the area! It's like a Twilight Zone kind of thing...

I'm a longtime fan of the original movie, and I absolutely loved the prequel series. I definitely hope there will be a Day 2.
