    Trek Mirror Mirror

Here are a few quick customs that have been close to completion for a while.

    Recipe:

Mirror Spock: Mego Spock with a painted Van Dyke and a resized Playmates tunic.
Mirror Kirk: Mego Kirk with a resized Playmates shirt.
Mirror McCoy: Mego McCoy, resized Playmates shirt, AJ Spy pants and Klingon boots.
Mirror Sulu: Sulu head and paint job by Dave Mc (scare included), resized Playmates shirt, AJ Spy pants and Klingon boots.
Mirror Uhura: Uhura head and paint job by Dave Mc, resized Playmates outfit.

The customs were not that difficult to make but I wanted them to add to my collection.

    Thanks Dave for the help!!

Bill, you have a wonderful collection of Star Trek Mirror Mirror figures. I appreciate the timing of your post because just recently, I've been looking at requiring some of the Playmates figures just for the their outfits. I wasn't sure how the outfits would fit on the Mego figures so I haven't purchase any at auction. It appears they could be resized nicely.

Awesome job! I wonder if we'll see these characters eventually as a line extension from EMCE?

    Trek

    Thanks for the complements everyone...

Just a couple of points about resizing the Playmates clothes. The two that were a little different were McCoy and Sulu because the shirt is sewn to the pants. I was going to resize the pants but I don't think it would have come out that great. I carefully detached the shirt from the pants (it was sewn under the sash) and added some black Mego tights with Klingon boots. I think this looks closer to the movie than the way Playmates rigs the long boots. Just be careful when you detach the shirt, the material is quite flimsy.

Spock's tunic is a little bit of a pain because it is bulky around the neck area. I didn't want to pull anything off from that area because I like the detail but you will probably have to work the material to get it to fit right.

    Overall, I am pleased...

Thanks again everyone and I'll be posting a few more shortly. I'm sure you know the story... So many customs in the works, so little time...
    - Bill
