I'm going to see it again and thought I'd splurge for the 3D version. How was it in 3D? Has anyone seen it in that format?

Tom (MIB) and I did indeed "splurge" and saw ANT-MAN in IMAX 3D and it was well worth the ticket price. Normally I'm not a huge fan of 3D movies. They're usually too gimmicky and the directors are saddled with shots of thing coming directly at the camera to take advantage of the 3D effects. I'm happy to say that ANT-MAN, like GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY last year, is able to weave the 3D into the story without it being obnoxious and instrusive; instead, it becomes an integral part of the adventure, almost a character unto itself. Watching Scott shrink and grow in 3D was a total blast and his tussle with the ****** was definitely a highlight of the movie and a great way to integrate him into the MCU.

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

They shoot it in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio due to the content, but still release it in IMAX 3D. Lol. Brilliant!

Saw the 3D version in a regular theatre and enjoyed it a great deal. I think the 3D enhances an already well done movie. It didn't seem gimmicky the way most 3D movies do. To me at least. Definetly worth seeing in 3D.

Had a great time seeing this with the family today. Did the 3D and I didn't really notice that I was watching a 3D flick, which is good since that means it was not crazy gimmicky and just enhanced the story. Really enjoyed this movie and glad to see a hero movie that can have big battle scenes and also be light hearted and fun.

I almost lost it during the fight in the briefcase and the iphone started playing The Cure's "Plainsong". It was just so wonderfully ridiculous.

Peyton Reed was talking about that bit in the Empire podcast interview with him. I think they originally put it in as a temp track, and it seemed to work so well, that they kept it.

Saw this movie the other day and loved it!, maybe not as much as Guardians of the Galaxy but a good flick all the same. I'm surprised its not performing better at the box office.

Superhero movies seem to peak the weekend they open. There is usually a large drop off the second weekend. Apparently most people go see them the first weekend or during that first week.

I loved Antman. It was fun and didn't take itself too seriously. I liked that it was a smaller plot and only a heist mission. I get sick of the whole (Alien,Robot, etc) battle where the end of the world is at stake. The whole micro- effect and size contrast could have been visualized better and more often but that's the only problem I had with it. Maybe oversized props would look meh on screen though.
