First pic of Age Of Apocalypse...Really?

I know that the comic book movies tend to take liberties with how they are made...but isn't Jean Grey fully grown in Age Of Apocalypse comic book? Here's a first look at Jubilee and Jean Grey:

I can see Jubilee being young....but Jean isn't 16 - 18 years old in the comic. If this is what Singer is doing...I think I will pass on the next X-Men movie.

Well, since it's set in the past(the 80's)Jean & Cyclops should be there. Of course, that doesn't explain the inclusion of Jubilee or Nightcrawler being there(but since when have the movies stuck to continuity?). But we do have some confirmed original X-Men Team: Jean & Cyclops, Beast, Angel...and I'm not sure about Iceman.

Any X-Men movie is going to be forced to have to at least consider "younger" characters just to balance out the archetypes in a 2 hr. project about the adventures of a "school of students" (a "school" mind you, not just one classroom)----add to this that this particular franchise's particular "AOA" story encompasses a large cast of B & C list heroes, plus the "time-travel" element to boot, well, I wouldn't be shocked if there was a "baby" Wolverine character.

Age of Apocalypse was at the core at Mirrorverse storyline, and Singer has said that the timeline since Days of Future has been drastically altered, so X3 never happened.

It really comes down to how old Jean and Scott were supposed to be in the first X-Men. Famke was in her 30's at the time, so the new Jean for AoA is around the right age.

Still looks like a pass for me. With all that's been said in this thread...Olivia Munn as Psylocke is older than Jean?? Again, I don't get it. I haven't watched Days of Future's past yet and after hearing what Singer has done makes me not want to see it. I have the DVD but haven't watch it yet.

Unfortunately it's probably the last story I gave a crap about in the X-Men comics. After this story it really went to crap in my opinion. The Brood and the Moorlock arcs probably sealed X-Men's fate for me as a reader. Just awful writing and awful art..more with the Moorlock arc than the Brood arc. Paul Smith is a really good artist...but Dan Green just destroyed his art with awful inking.

I really dig the first two movies (First Class and DoFP) in this second trilogy of X-pics better than the original three. Which is weird to me given the fact that for the most part they do pretty much star B & C list X-Men.

If recasting Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Nightcrawler et al means the return of these characters, within the context of the 80's/alt-timeline story making perfect sense, I'm on board with that.

The one thing that does give me pause is that Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn were not involved in the scripting of this latest instalment.

                              Storm - looks good.
                              Psylocke - looks good.
Apocalypse - uh, no. Would've been better off as CGI and massive looking (see Thanos in GOTG) as opposed to this Ivan Ooze take.

It shall be life."
