Fascinating! I've never seen an alternate version. What's interesting is the kids are the same as the original but the background settings are different. They must have had more than one prototype to decide on and perhaps two commercials were made to promote each one internally and maybe even to Aucoin and KISS. Great find!

The so called "Mego Commercial" tape floating around is actually a lot toy fair presentation reels. This is the broadcast version of the commercial, tightened for time, they are often different than the ones we're used to seeing.
