Really interesting read and what I find interesting is that Wonder Woman's original outfit had skin showing between the breast plate/top and the skirt. Check it out:

^To think she showed even more skin than she eventually did is amazing. The sandals/laces look would come back at the end of the Golden Age.

I really like the golden age art. Even in a proof sketch, he drew her with functional drapery, arms in proportion, and no "enhancements" (if you know what I mean).
