Retro TV: The Monkees & DC Comics?

While going through some old tv programs I had forgot about the episode of The Monkees where The Penguin and Superman made a guest appearance. Granted they are very short appearances but in some twisted version this puts The Monkees in the Batman '66 Universe.

The episode was done after the Batman show ended so that was the last time Burgess Mereditith posed as The Penguin. The Superman scene uses the George Reeves type outfit. Enjoy!

That's fascinating to see. The Monkees is such a great snap shot of those times because it embraced anything that was remotely hip. It will be a unique feeling to be purchase a Mego-like Monkees figure after all these years. Thanks for the post!!
