^Yeah, that was a huge controversy for some when the movie was cast. Looks like their father (who is an African-American scientist in the film) adopted Sue.
Okay if that's the case, then it would make sense for this one particular movie version, but it's not how
it's adapted from Marvel comics and the last two films, why make the change in the first place?
Does Stan Lee have any say on how his characters appear on film? updated costumes are fine,
but ethnic backgrounds should be correct IMO.
Let's make a Luke Cage Powe Man (Hero for Hire movie) and cast the actor as Caucasian, that wouldn't make
any sense, my opinions on this subject are only based on my childhood growing up with these heroes and villians
they are typecast with a certain ethnic background, shouldn't it be kept that way traditionally?
My breakfast bar just came to life... I'm sorry. I just get no feeling for this "thing". The whole vibe of this film is well south of anything I would deem interesting to warrant a ticket purchase. Easy pass. Pour Nestlé's chocolate on him and he would make a great treat for Lil D.
This version of The Thing looks like something that my colon produces every morning. Mark Hamill once said, "there's no substitute for a guy behind a mask." I'll take Michael Chiklis in the rubber Thing suit over this any day. Michael said that he accepted the role in the 2004 film because he's a longtime fan of the character. FOX should've made this film as a fully CGI production and just brought in voiceover people to voice the characters.
Damn it... WHY can't they give him his brow ridge?
This.
I like the bodymass, but the refusal to go with Thing's face so the actor can "emote" via mo-cap is idiotic. I see the same shenanigans in the new Avengers material, where Ruffalo's features seem way more apparent than in the first one.
