Not an attempt to yuk anyone's yum... Is John Constantine a cool character in the comics?

I've never read anything with Constantine in it. AND... (here comes the potentially blasphemous part) every time I see him in a TV series, whether cartoon or live action, he is a hackneyed cliche of the reluctant hero filled with all too many faults. It doesn't help that the character is usually over-written yet somehow still incredibly 2-dimensional.

Is this the result of shorter appearances in TV shows not allowing the character to be properly filled out like he has been in the comics? Is this just the typical lazy effort to shorthand the things TV writers think the fans like about him? Maybe it's just me. (((ducking to avoid the garbage being thrown at me for asking)))

Thanks. Maybe I'll check them out and then I'll be able to appreciate his TV versions a bit better.

ON A SEPARATE NEWSLETTER NOTE- Thanks for putting the Italian clown link in there. I tend to miss a lot of the stuff on FB and did not see this really cool bit. I knew nothing of these figures.

BTW, I thought the head sculpt might make a potential Eli Wallach/Mr Freeze custom.

I'm familiar with Constantine from Hellblazer and at least one DC animated project before CW's goofy take on him. I don't hold it against the character. I'm actually working on a custom version right now in the larger scale; Legends didn't tarnish him enough to deter me.

As for the clown, google Mego Dondy and Ceppi Ratti clown

All they have to do to get Hellblazer out there is sculpt a head, all his clothes can come right off the FTC rack.

I always look forward to the weekly round up of all the good things that have been going on in the Mego world and another great newsletter!

I love that Were Cat custom and would love to see something like this made available to add to my collection and I also wondered if anyone here has picked up any of Aleksandar's AHI style customs? They're a little on the pricy side but do look fantastic and both the card backs and figures look so well produced.

I haven't delved into the custom world really other than my monthly Distinctive Dummies fix and the odd thing I've picked up over the years but these are quite appealing to me and I wouldn't mind trying my hand at a custom at some point soon.

Thanks to all involved with making this weekly thread a highlight of my week

Definitely getting this Batman love the look of the dark blue, though the mouth and the black line looks cartoon-ish.

No way, our "top openers" are always people who have been very critical of our efforts publicly, so that doesn't fit. If anything you should be adding more email accounts

Great newsletter. I do not like a lot of variant Batman's but this version I can undertand and will get.

I've resisted buying any of the FTC DC characters and resisting is even easier with the variations, but I really like the dark blue and longer ears of this Batman. He has a real Neil Adams feel about him. I just wish the FTC suits weren't so baggy.
