    Overalls with red letter "A"?

    Hello folks,

Does anybody know what character originally wore these denim overalls with a red letter "A" printed on the chest? Right now the overalls are on a male body with a blond head, but chances are very good that's not the figure they originally came with. I had over 100 Mego people when I was a kid and believe me they all shared clothes, accessories, heads, limbs ... etc.

I'm pretty sure I know who all of them originally were, though, except this one!

    Thank you!

It would help if you could post a pic. I do not recall any male figure marked with the scarlet letter "A".

Alvin would be just a sweater or shirt.

Here it is! Again, I really have no idea if this is the right body for the outfit ...

Head is Hutch from Starsky & Hutch.
Overalls are Jon Boy Walton (the A was added by some kid, most likely).

Weird. I would say added by someone too, but (on my screen at least) it appears to be heat sealed?

Hey, thanks! Good call on the Hutch head!

But I'm not so sure about the overalls. John Boy Walton's overalls have buckles on them, not straps. Also, it just so happens that I have TWO sets of these weird red letter A overalls, and I suspect they go with these pale green shirts that are definitely not John Boy shirts. Lastly, if any kid had glued As on the overalls, it would have been me. And I'm pretty sure I never did that. Take a look at the closeup of the A -- it looks really professionally done. I have no idea how I would have made it look that good, even if I had wanted to!

Are there any tags or markings at all inside the overalls or the green shirts?

Also, how would you describe the fit of the green shirts on an 8" Mego? It looks large in your photo. Do you think it was designed for an 8" figure or maybe something larger?

Hm, you are right about the shirt! It does look big.
Also, now that I think about it, I don't imagine they would have added the pocket flap detail if was designed to be tucked into the overalls. So now I'm thinking maybe the shirts did not originally go with the overalls after all.
But, if not, I wonder where those shirts came from? The only Mego people I ever had were 8" ones ...
... and there's still the mystery of the overalls. They are quite snug, definitely would not fit any figure bigger than 8".

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention: There are no tags or markings anywhere inside the shirts or the overalls. Thanks for asking!

My apologies for the bad info. When I first looked at it, I figured it was one of those puffy stickers.. but from the closeup, that is clearly not the case. The mystery deepens...

No problem, Sprytel, I appreciate your taking a shot at it! Kinostadt, I think you're on to something with the size difference ... it wasn't so obvious when they were on the figures, but if you look at the red "A" overalls next to Jon Boy's overalls, the red "A" ones are definitely bigger:
