Youtube stars Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart have been cast in a reboot of Sid and Marty Krofft's 1970's series, 'Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.' The original series aired for one season in 1976, and featured two superheroes who move to Los Angeles in the hopes of making it big in the crime fighting world. The series will be directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, and executive produced by the Kroffts, as well as Helbig, Hart and their managers Ken Treusch and Sarah Weichel, respectively. The project is produced by Tim Carter and Tomas Harlan under their Contradiction Films banner, which recently produced Dead Rising: Watchtower with Legendary Digital Media. The series will be distributed in the United States via Fullscreen, with Legendary Television Distribution overseeing global distribution. A release date has not yet been announced.

Love Helbig and Hart - their YouTube channels are great and are very funny. With them playing ElectraWoman and DynaGirl, I'm hoping for something along the lines of the Batman '66 series - playing it straight, but with a bunch of camp and color, similar to the original Kroftt series. I'm praying, however, they don't stray into grim n' gritty territory."It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."Comment

Welp, so much for praying. I don't HATE the costumes, but I am disappointed they went the spy gear/SHIELD look instead of spandex and capes. really wished they went old school for this, but I'll reserve final judgement after I see an episode or two."It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. They look ready for a guest appearance on the Flash.
I BARELY recall watching the show as a kid, but why doesn't Krofft work with Disney or Nickelodeon to revamp these shows? Perfect place for them, with no angst.

I saw a recent video Grace Helbig posted on her YouTube Channel, and there's a brief shot of Hannah Hart wearing the top of a costume that looks a bit like a take on the old Krofft DynaGirl costume. I'm guessing (hoping - pure speculation on my part) they might start out wearing old school superhero costumes before going from Akron, Ohio to Los Angeles in the story."It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues.
