I saw him once at a Creation Convention, years ago, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get his autograph!

He was so funny, and personable! He answered some of the dumbest questions, but never once got impatient or lost his temper with the audience members.

He was a class act all around, and I'm sad to see him go.

He was the heart and soul of the franchise that's been a part of our lives since we were little kids. I felt like I got to actually know him following his Twitter the last couple years. I'll miss him a lot.

I was looking forward to the Trek 50th anniversary festivities that were sure to come this year, which I'm sure Leonard would've really enjoyed as well. Feels hollow now..

I agree, he was the heart and soul of the original Trek. Kirk was the action, but Spock embodied the heart and soul of what the show was about. I am profoundly saddened by his loss.

              My thoughts exactly...

              And from Seth MacFarlane:

"Leonard Nimoy brought us one of the greatest, noblest characters in the history of American storytelling. Someone find the Genesis planet."

Like all of you who have posted, hearing of his passing hit me pretty hard. Hard to believe we lost him. And what a great man and mind we have lost...R.I.P

When I was young I realized one day, I'd lose many of the people I looked up to. It was quite a while before it started happening, but now that I'm nearing middle age, it seems to be happening far more frequently.

Harold Ramis was the last one, I think, that hit me as hard as this. Lou Reed was a big one too.

Leonard's passing hit me just as hard as Robin Williams' passing. The older we get, the more of these guys we're gonna lose.
