    Tomart's Action Figure Digest

I always thought this was the best of the toy collecting magazines back in the day. remember how we had to wait a couple of months or three before they were able to report on the Toy Fair news?

and I had no idea it was still being published. (I don't think any comic shop I visit currently orders this for the stands)

This issue shines the spotlight on some great 1980s action figure toy lines that cashed-in on the success of Mattel's Masters of the Universe line, mainly Remco's Conan, The Lost World of the Warlord and Warrior Beast lines. Featured will be a full-page photo of the rare 'Fortress of Doom' playset, direct from the 1984 Remco catalog. Galoob's BlackStar line will also be covered. After a short wrap up of merchandise from 2014's San Diego Comic Con, AFD provides a preview of what to expect at 2015's New York Toy Fair, and takes a look back at how this 102-year-old New York institution has changed over the years. Regular sections on new releases, surprises from the past, 'Action News Briefs' and Hot Wheels are also featured.

I haven't bought a copy of that in probably ten years, but Remco's Conan and Warlord, as well as Blackstar? SOLD. I wonder if you can get copies on Amazon?

I stopped buying it when they had like 10 pages of toys, and 30 pages of ads.
          Too expensive, not enough info.

One of my favorites, but I am still partial to White's Guide because I appeared in 5 articles in that one and never in Tomart's.

I had a subscription to both Tomart's and Lee's at one time. Tomarts did get a little thin on content at one point, and sometimes their research was quite off. But, they broke a lot of news, and revealed things like unproduced Super Powers, etc.

Just picked up the latest issue from my LCS. Nice feature on MOTU knock offs from Remco. Having missed MOTU totally growing up it was interesting to read.

Now didn't Toy Hunter visit the Tomart offices in one of the early episodes? (he might have walked away with a Six Million Dollar Man?)

Yeah, that's right, there was a warehouse in back. First season? I need to watch those early episodes again, I have to go through my video archives.
