Krofft Week: Land of the Lost

Probably my most favourite of all Krofft shows would be Land of the Lost, I never missed it and it often scared the hell out of me.

It was also one of the most heavily merchandised Krofft shows ever made, above is the Safari Shooter one of the many rack toys made.

Speaking of Rack Toys, it's a personal goal to get this bad boy one day.

This Sleestak Jiggler produced by Ben Cooper is among my favourite toy possessions. I have no idea why there haven't been more Sleestak toys.

Speaking of Sleestaks, the Ben Cooper Halloween costume is another item I do hope to track down some day.

No greater evidence of the show's popularity than the fact that viewmaster released two sets of reels for the show, one of the first season and a second for the "Uncle Jack" year. For more Fashion Mockery and 70's toy love visit us at Plaid Stallions.com

Loved this show, and even at the young age I watched, I loved the way it began/ended with the perpetual time loop, so that when they finally escaped and were replaced by their earlier selves, they could relive the entire series meaning they could show the 'repeats" and they would be 'new".

One of my absolute favorites as a kid! The lack of merchandise was unfortunate....

I introduced LOTL to my kids through the DVD box set and I'm happy to say they like it as well. One proud dad moment was on the Splash Mountain ride at Disneyworld in the back part of the ride in the tunnels they started singing "Marshall, Will and Holly, on a routine expedition"...... We sang that all of the way to the big drop!

Those have been available for a while, they're ok but I want an honest to goodness action figure.

Didn't they make LOTL 4 inch figures in the early 90's?

From that new LOTL TV series I believe, and it wasn't very good.

That does sound like a proud moment! Did anyone on the ride sing along?

I love the original LOTL (That 90s one was a joke!) I have the original lunchbox, and 2 action figures, Enik and a Sleestak, customed by a former member of MM. This show was really cool: good effects (that could even stand up now), great writing, (even Walter Koenig and DC Fontana wrote eps!), and of course that cool theme song! I didn't like the 3rd "Uncle Jack" season so much, but that seems to be the general consensus.

We had the boat to ourselves! We were Marshall, Will and Holly. My youngest son opted to not ride, I guess he would have had to be Chaka I guess if he went along.

^That's awesome. Splash Mountain is fun enough, but adding something like that in is just one heck of a memory.

                          What's up with Krofft licensing?

I think LOTL & ElectraWoman would be sweet reMegos.
