Anybody else think haunted house movies aren't scary anymore since CGI came along ?

It's like there's nothing they can come with to shock/scare me

Poltergeist is one of the scariest movies of all time. That, along with Salem's Lot, messed me up real good as a kid.

I hope Raimi being involved means quality. Trailer looks okay.

Obviously, the original is dated, but does it still have the ability to scare a modern tween? My girl is eleven, and I'm still waiting to show it to her.

Hmmm. I haven't seen that one yet, but I thought Drag Me to Hell was an absolute hoot.

Loved the original... And I don't feel compelled to see it retold.

              .
Same here. Poltergeist and Salem's Lot scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

My son will not know these remakes. He will see the same movies I did when I was young. Of course when he is older.

                Looks pretty decent to me.
Oh man, Salem's Lot caused me a lot of nightmares.

The Evil Dead remake is pretty dang awesome. I couldn't stand Drag Me to Hell. Maybe I need to revisit it.

I don't think Poltergeist is dated at all. It's like Jaws or Close Encounters for me, I can watch it any time I come across it on cable.

I don't bemoan remakes for the most part, but this is one movie I think they should leave alone. First half of the trailer looked good, but then it just looked like every other modern haunted house movie.
