Would you pick up a hitchhiker ?

In today's world, with the way things are would you pick up a hitchhiker? If I come home past the turnpike there have been several times I've seen people try to hitch a ride and wondered if any one ever stops. I know not all of them could or would be serial killers, but I don't think I would take that chance.

I use to all the time in the late 80's early 90's but in today's world nope not gonna happen. If I see someone that looks like they need a ride or are stranded I will call the police and send them to help out.

We see hitchhikers all the time because they are inmates who have just been released from the county jail that is only a few miles down the road. Most are quite scary looking and I would never pick them up. As far as picking up a serial killer, they are more likely to be your neighbor or your friend than a hitchhiker.

Naked Emily Blunt is even more dangerous than the serial killers.

Nope. You never know these days. Possible serial killer or have a pocket full of drugs, either way not my risk to take. The only concession I would make would be if I saw a gas can in their hand and with kids. But even then I would be extremely cautious.

There's no room on my bicycle for a hitchhiker.

If it's a family, or someone obviously in distress I'll stop. The standard scruffy backpack type with a dog like we have around here, not a chance.

                      I don't have a car anymore, but I wouldn't even if I did.

The cops around these parts keep the hitchhikers to a bare minimum

Don't think I seen one in years --- not counting the usual drunk guy trying to bum a ride home.

I wouldn't pick up a hitchhiker cause if you ever got in an accident they could sue the ____ out of you.

it's way to dangerous in this day and age. I would not take the chance. it's sad because most are likely harmless and just looking for a ride, but why risk your life
