before the New 52 relaunch there as a female Judomaster running around with The Birds of Prey and Justice Society, but I don't think they really had much of a chance to develop her. She seemed really interesting, but the cast of thousands approach didn't really give her a lot of screen-time altogether.

it'd be great if Nu Charlton could at least get ahold of Peter Cannon for its line. The character is owned by the creator's estate, not DC.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Early 80's, DC got ahold of the Charlton characters and integrated them into the DCU in Crisis on Infinite Earths. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

These characters are cool! Alan Moore wanted to use some of them in what became Watchmen. It's fun to see how these characters were the blueprint for Dr. Manhattan, the Comedian, Nite Owl, etc.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

And then kooky Grant Morrison comes along a few decades later and uses the Charlton characters ala Watchman in Multiversity Pax Americana.

Although at this point, you do kind of understand Moore's annoyance at the guy jumping on his coat-tails over the years... from the recently published Kid Miracleman story that Morrison originally wrote on the heals of Moore's original run on Warrior, to the "Magician" thing, the admissions of Moore's influence on work like Zenith and Animal Man, tempered with the pot-shots he's taken at Moore in the fan-press, now this.

Alan Moore is a funny kooky bird. Most of his "groundbreaking" stories, from Marvelman, to Watchman, to Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow were all taken from Superfolks by Robert Mayer. Took me a while to track down a copy (back when it was out of print) and having read it I can personally say, it was like reading a 6th Grader's Superman/Shazam fanfic... that Alan Moore stole. And used for 3 different stories.
I'm not saying Alan Moore is guilty of literary theft. But the influence is felt... sometimes beat by beat.
And coincidence? Grant Morrison wrote the introduction for the latest printing of this 1977 novel.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
