Trying to track down this one Space Opera comic book series from the late 1970s

I'm no means a comic book expert (or fan) and have relatively small collection (with Micronauts making up the majority). But there was this short-lived comic book series from about 1977 or so that was in the vein of the Star Wars brand of space opera. I think it might of been released by Marvel. There were aspects of it that were more Flash Gordon than Star Wars, but it clearly seemed meant to cash in on Star Wars mania. Anyone here know what comic books series this might be? I vaguely remember it being highlighted on some site like Space 1970. I think at one point it was published as a series of cheapo paperback novels.

Star Hawks by Ron Goulart & Gil Kane? That was a 2-3 year running daily comic strip that was collected in pb but never in a comic book.

DC had Star Hunters which ran 6 issues I think but never in a pb.

Marvel had the original Guardians of the Galaxy, Killraven, Warlock, and a couple one shots like Seeker 3000 and Monark Starstalker.

I loved that series and still wish they'd publish the end of it. Or let me write one.

Star Hawks was definitely released as paperback books. Totally remember them.

Star Hawks it is! Though I'm a bit intrigued by Star Hunters, too.
