What, no Scooby-Doo? That was my pick. I guess it kind of falls under the HB super heroes line, given the Blue Falcon connection.

I'd buy a good chunk of these, though!

I may have lumped that in with HB, there was a lot of love for individual characters and grouped together they were better on the radar.

^^^ That top ten list pretty well sums up the core characters for me. The only thing I would add is Battle of the Planets.

It did get a vote, in previous years it ranked higher.

I'd come out of the closet and buy any Gatchaman, Yamato, and/or Captain Harlock (...and his Universe of Characters: Queen Millenia, Galaxy Express, etc.) if they were ever officially produced and offered

I know I'm probably in the minority on this, but I don't think Mego would have done as good of job with Star Wars as Kenner did.

Had they gotten SW, it just would have been another license of many to them and initially a low priority one as well. They already had a top selling sci-fi line with Micronauts. Which they were protective of. I also don't think they would have made them 8 inch scale. I strongly suspect they would have done them Comic Action style. I do think they'd have made the 77 Christmas release, unlike Kenner. But they would have been rushed, sparsely painted and made on the cheap. I cringe at the idea of CA Leia looking like the original CA Wonder Woman.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I think that even if they had initially gone an inferior 3 3/4 route, they would have come around to 8" pretty soon. I'm thinking parallel to Dukes and CHiPs. They had so many problems by the end of the decade that it might not have been enough to save the company, but as big a hit as SW was I bet it would have for awhile. And who knows, their 3 3/4 version might have been closer to their Eagle Force efforts in design, which I think would compare well with Kenner.
