I had an idea for a few Action Jackson inspired dioramas.
Here's the first one: an Egyptian tomb raider with light up lantern!
I got the AJ jungle safari shirt, pants and boots off ebay and bought the TINY led bulb and wires online.
The rest was scrounged, traded for or scratch built (pith helmet, black socks, brown belt, black hammer, map, mummy) The pickaxe is ?GI Joe? shortened and painted.
I used thin wood for the base and a heavy duty cardboard box for the two back corner walls. Ceiling tile (for some structural heft) covered with joint compound for the two front corner walls (which I carved and then dry brushed) and a cardboard lid. The treasure is a mix of found objects and scratch built. Note the vintage Strange Change mummy model! (It isn't glued down) The wallpaper is wrapping paper I found in my parent's house when I visited for Thanksgiving! I was going to attempt painting that sort of wall but decided to save myself about a year of work and just go with the paper. It's a little too shiny but otherwise I think it works well. The mummy is magic sculpt pieces held together with elmer's glue and strips of the same white fabric I used way back when for Rorschach's mask.
Thanks to member AAAAA for the backpack (and more AJ gear for future dioramas )
Total dollar investment: $12!

The idea is it should be viewed in a darkened room... when you switch on the "lantern" and peer inside you can just make out some shiny treasures. For the "over the shoulder peek" pic I used a flashlight because there just wasn't enough light for my camera to see anything.
