Hi all! The last couple of years, I've gotten my son a few remegos for Christmas. Last year, he wanted a Clark Kent and a Hulk, but I really didn't want to spend the money on Mego originals, so I put those two together for him using repro parts. I wanted him to have the experience of opening the package, so I repurposed the clam shells from some Batman series 1 figures and made backer cards for Clark Kent and Hulk.
This was kind of a busy year, but I wanted to give him at least one custom figure and since he had been asking for a Peter Parker, I decided to put one together. I always thought that the Mego version was a little plain (and dorky) looking, so I went with a new version Luke Duke. I bought it loose, with no head, from CTVT. All I did was replace the checkered shirt with a green hoodie (CTVT Bud Bundy) and put a repro Parker head on it and done. Next, I found a cool Romita Jr. Peter Parker image and slapped it on a Spider-Man backer card (from Mego Museum-Thanks!). The front and back of the card were printed on HP glossy photo paper, glued together and trimmed.
I had some trouble finding a camera, but I got some good tips from museum members Cockyhoskins and CMHorse. I found a pretty good one on Ebay. It said it was from Barbie, but the size is about right and I didn't have to paint it. Let me know what you think.
