Starhawk first appeared in " Defenders" vol. 1 #27, where he was a mysterious alien who joined the Defenders and Guardians against the Badoon. He stayed with the Guardians when the teams parted ways. He is half-human and half of the same artificially created race as Adam Warlock. He was born on planet Vesper but was abducted shortly after birth. He was raised on planet Arcturus IV by adoptive parents and learned much later they were not his biological parents.
I grew up with this version of the Guardians of the Galaxy so they hold a special place in my heart. I think they are one of the most visually exciting super-hero groups to ever grace the printed page. Hopefully, I have done them justice in Megoesque action-figure form.
Here is Starhawk from Defenders 28
And here is in Mego form. He is built on an original Mego T2 body; gloves and boots from CTVT; suit by yours truly; head is an enlarged and modified DC Direct Starman head with paints by me; wing things were brilliantly created exclusively for this figure by www.lasermego.com
some of my favorite GOTG covers...
and the group shot sans Yondu (in the works)...
A very special thanks goes out to Paul Wasson aka Laser Mego. This custom would not have been created without him.
I hope you enjoy my customs as much as I do, and, as always, thanks for looking!
Peace, Love, and Megos,
Austin
