My name is Scott. I've visited the museum quite a number of times over the past 2 years. I stumbled upon the site while researching the World's Greatest Super-Heroes. I finally joined the forums a couple of weeks back, hoping to meet some fellow fans and make connections to purchase my favorite childhood toys. And that's exactly what happened. My favorite Mego line is the Planet of the Apes. But I am branching out to Action Jackson and some of the WGSH. Since joining I have re-acquired 18 Mego action figures. And I even purchased a Jet Jungle replica figure.
My names Angel,
how I got here is a funny story. I was rumaging into some boxes and found a penquin.
I asked my brother what it was, btu he did not know. So , I played with him and FC daredevil.Until one day, my brother took me to a comic shop.I asked my brother if I could take penguin with me, and he said yes! So thats when I met Charlie(MegoGeek),a nd he noticed the mego. so then we started talk mego, then we arranged a date to come by. And the rest is history.
I've been a member for at least four years, btu in a year and couple of months, I had lost my Mego spirit. But rumaging through another box, I fell in love with em' again
My name is Erik and I'm 48!
Picked up Spock and Kirk a few years back at an antique store and added them to my collection of 70's stuff. Found a CHiPs Action Van a few years ago started looking for info. Found the Museum when searching for Star Trek and was just in time to get the release of Star Trek cards. Kids came along as well as a move and everything has been boxed up in the garage.
Started digging through the garage and am rediscovering my stash of stuff.
Currently on the lookout for affordable Jon and Ponch figures to add to the van.
Looking to start trading cards and am awaiting my starter set.
Trying to let the wife cut me loose on the new Trek figures!
May try my hand at a Custom figure of Vampirella. I used to read the comics before I "Grew-Up" and got more involved in Cars, Girls and College than toys. Now that I am "Grown-Up" I'm looking for stuff I passed on in the late 70's early 80's!
Hello my name is John and I'm a megoholic. I used to be a lurker here for years and finally joing a few years ago. I'm 40 years old and was a kid during mego's hayday. I remember all of the good times my figures brought me. I also remember one christmas morning getting the ST communicators and being very excited. To me, megos bring out the kid in me. Great thread Joe.
hi my name is mike. i grew up with megos and always loved them. my brother ric aka jemboy on this board, told me about the mego museum. finally about four years ago i got the mego urge gain. i bought a couple figures at a local comic shop thenwent to megoconn and joined this site. i have been a member for about 4 years and have gained lots of mego knowledge also still have lots to learn. this site is the best on the web period. the members are friendly and i have been given lots of free stuff without asking. thats what makes this place and megos so gret they bring ut the best in everybody here. mike
Hi all ...my name is Roger and i've been collecting toys since childhood..lol. Mainly Star Wars but comic/cult/movie figures too. Over the last few years i've been trying to get my perfect toybox that I woulod have loved as a kid...and those include megos. I love comics, movies, cult tv(especially Dr Who), model making, drawing and my kids(ok I suppose the missus as well). I was introduced to the boards by Monkey Tennis and have never had as much fun with a keyboard before....I love you guys...Hopefully soon (when I have enough parts ) I will put my model making skills into doing some customising....please be gentle when I eventually do it (especially you ABMAC lol). Also hoping to build a collection of POTA and Star Trek megos.
Thanks megomuseum.
Hi everyone. My name is Dan. I had an action figure and bubble gum card childhood. I have been an adult collector since 1991, Mego heavy since 1994. I have been a member here for over 5 years after lurking for about 5 years. I have been very focused on carded World's Greatest Super Heroes variations for several years. Welcome to our many new members!
:animal-smiley-040:
Hi everybody my Name is Frank Verdejo. I've been following these boards along with my three kids...(2)boys and (1 girl); for the last couple of years. We find this site to be both educational and informative on many facets of action figure toys, especially Megos. I've been a collector of the Star Trek, POTA and WGSH line since 1974. I customize a little myself; Awhile back i customized a Lone Ranger that Dave McCormick Posted on the Museum for me...which was received kindly by everyone (thanks). I'm looking foward to posting pics of some other Mego stuff i've been working on soon. Ti'll then God Bless.....and Happy New Year everybody!!!
WELCOME TO THE BEST FORUM ON THE INTERNET! Nice to meet you!
Hi all, I'm Mike. My love of Mego ties into the "Vintage" part of my moniker. Mego is part of what I call the "vintage" era I love so much from 70's
to mid-eighties. Comics, toys, video games all the fun stuff from that time is like gold to me now. I lurked for many years before coming out of the shadows. While other committments have caught up with me and I can't spend the time here I'd like I will be another to say this is indeed the best forum on the 'net. Great bunch of people that really make you feel at home.
If you are able I highly recommend attending MegoMeet. You'll not only see more Mego in person that you've seen in a long time, but meet many of the great people here as well.
My name is Shane and I live in New Orleans. I've been a member of the Mego Museum for a long time and have watched it morph into what it is today. I'm a kid of the 70's & 80's, so I am lucky enough to remember picking out Mego action figures at different stores and playing with them in my yard. I have lots of Mego figures in my collection which mostly focuses on WGSH & POTA.
I think the very first friend I made on the internet was through the Mego Museum and I still consider him a friend today. That guy would be the long time "spirit" of the Mego Museum, Type1Kirk.
I’ve been a Mego Collector since the type 1 Star Trek figures hit the pegs.
My next door neighbor had the Planet of the Apes Megos, I had Star Trek. Every Saturday (after their respective animated series) we would play Star Trek Had A Transporter Accident and Ended Up on the Planet of the Apes. Good Times. We beat the hell out of those figures. I got a second set to keep in good condition (type 2 by this time) along with some Aliens. We ended up beating these to Hell as well. All that remains from my youth is the cardboard Enterprise playset with the Captain’s Chair, and my original naked beat-to-hell Gorn (oh, and a very beat up Spider-Man and Hulk with a scotch-taped together leg.)
Now to 1986. Inside the Star Trek IV the Voyage Home Souvenir magazine was an add for the classic six (type 2) Star Trek figures from Mego. $125 later, I had my Megos again ! ! ! ! (This is from the now (in)famous Canadian Warehouse “find”)
When we entered the new century, we entered the Renaissance Period (i.e. eBay and Reproductions). It was a great time to be a MegoHead™
In 2002, I was desperately trying to get the 1966 version of the Bat-logo printed onto sticker paper for the Reproduction RC Batman I was making, so I found this Forum, registered, posted a request for help, and in under three hours had several jpegs in my inbox to choose from.
Time passed, and I guess I got deregistered.
The EMCE Star Trek and Planet of the Apes announcements brought me back; I re-registered and now I come here everyday.
Between CTVT, EMCE/Doc Mego, and eBay, I will be spending tons of money in 2008.
I suppose I am going to need some DIDAs to put them all in…..
Hey there. My name is Bryan and I've been obsessed with toys for my entire life! I'm 33 years old and I have a 4 year old boy who gives me a good excuse to spend lots of time playing with my toys again. I remember Megos, Big Jim and 6 Million Dollar Man the most from my childhood, along with Star Wars and GI Joe of course. I have now rediscovered my passion for toys and am now trying to collect all the things that I didn't get to own as a kid, and also re-collect the ones that didn't survive the test of time and those wild pretend games. I was an obsessive comic book/baseball card kid after I grew up a bit, and now I thank the MegoMuseum for unleashing my mad obsessive collecting funbrain onto Megos.
:-)
Hi, I'm Bill. Long time listener, first time caller. Well, actually I've been posting here for a few years now. I'm a big fan of almost anything 70's superhero, Mego being the prime focus of that admiration.
I came here to learn about Megos (and have learned sooooo much), but I keep coming back for the amazingly cool people.
My name's Andrea, and I had a bunch of the DC megos back in the early 80s when I was a kid. I still have most of those megos, abeit chewed on.I found this site after buying a Doctor Who head on eBay...and realising the poor guy needed clothes. I love customizing toys, I started with models and garage kits, moved to BJDs, currently I'm doing more with Pinky St. figures, as it's less scary to mess up on a $6 Pinky than a $600 doll. Now I'm really seeing a good future with megos. A little more than Pinkys, but they pose and the costumes are more flexible.
(And I'm hooked once I figured out there were vintage Doctor Who megos. I'm sold!)
Greetings, my name is Andrew. I've been collecting action figures, mostly Star Wars, wrestling and assorted super heroes, for about 15 years now. Fond memories of Megos from my childhood have brought me here. My Mego collection consists of mostly Star Trek figures(8'). I have four carded and a few loose plus the 'bridge' playset. I'm working on getting some POTA Megos as well. A friend who posts here(not sure of his username) gave me a couple of Mego Museum trading cards and I couldn't resist signing up. This place is like a trip down memory lane for me(child of the 70's and all).
Welcome aboard Ladyrixx and haggis
Hi, my name is Pat, and I've been collecting stuff since Wacky Packages back in 1973. Wackys led to other non-sports cards, and that aspect of my collecting has never stopped.
My first action figure was the Six Million Dollar Man. In 1976 I discovered Star Trek, and I was hooked. I bought the Mego figures whenever I could - opened several of them, but was also enough of a collector even then that I kept the carefully opened packages, and bought a few extras to keep nice.
I loved Megos, and the sci-fi titles especially, got some Buck Rogers, the GAH Bug set, bridges and command centers, electronic toys, whatever I could. Some I opened, most I put away due to lack of display space. I also went for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and MASH. Got into Batman around the time Dark Knight came out, then got started on comics, and comics figures and trading cards.
Got the Galoob Trek figures and toys, then Playmates. I particularly liked the 9" figures because they reminded me of Megos.
I've pretty much stopped buying new figures, the whole chase and limited edition thing just ruined the fun for me. Even with trading cards now, you can't "collect them all", with those I just get base sets nowadays. But, the Star Trek Mego reproduction figures caught my attention recently, finally I can have the aliens! And now I'm feeling the action figure fever starting up again. Still, the way I found this great forum was from an article in Non-Sport Update, talking about the Mego Museum trading cards. I hope to be lucky enough to break into that soon. They are the perfect combination of my two favorite hobbies!
Oh is this where i say HI....
Im new and I have just recieved a Mego Comic Heroes Wonder Woman set and it is perfectly new you wouldnt believe its over 30 years old.
I also have a few Wonder Woman 13 inch dolls and a Movie 13 inch Superman.

AWESOME to be here.
Im from New Zealand! Paradise on Earth.
Hi,
I am MegoGeekJr's older brother. I have seen him visit this board and sometimes lurk myself. I am also a Mego enthusiast. I hope to have a wonderful stay here.
Hi my name is Steve, I'm 50 years old and I live in Telford, UK.
I've only just joined the forum although I have been meaning to for some time. I'm off work with a bad back at the moment awaiting an operation and I'm looking forward to spending a few hours reading the posts.
At the moment I collect silver-age DC comics and trading cards but I'm looking to start a collection of DC Megos although finances are tight right now. The WGSH cards look fantastic and I'll be dropping by daily to see if I can start a collection.
Hello, I'm looking to meet toy addicts like myself who love collecting toys #1 for fun. Seems with ebay so many people are focusing on value and worth. Everyone likes having a rare toy etc. but I am not intrested in listening to people just brag about the value of their collection although must be hard at times looking at all your great collections lol! I collect Stretch Armstrong and elastic heroes, super Joe, Pulsar, SMDM, assorted monster toys (everything from Kaiju to mighty men and monster maker)star wars,gi joe, and recently stuff like thunder cats and other asorted 70's , 80's, and even slightly newer toys.
Hey Glad to see you make it Andy!
Hi,
My name is Justin, I had Megos when I was a kid and started collecting them as an adult about 5 years ago. Started visiting this somewhere around then to see what every figure was suppose to look like. Anyway, I really like the site and thanks for letting me be a part of it.
Justin
Well now is as good a time as any.
I apologize for not introducing myself on this wonderful forum. I've been on here since October and since then I've actively met some great people on here. I'm not new to the Forum culture since I've been on three other forums that catch my interest. One being the Record Collectors Guild, other being Rickenbacker Resource Forum and the third being Hotel Womb, dedicated to my fave band The Church.
I got into Mego 8" figures recently after being an avid fan of Robot Chicken on Adult Swim. I had my firt mego, Robin Type 1, when I was 5. Loved it to death and cried when it's foot broke off. After that I got a Croc and would play with my friend who had the entire collection plus the almost all vehicles and sets for the WGSH, including Wayne Manor. Had another friend who had all the Star Trek sets and figures. So as you can see I grew up around these figures and like many on here eventually graduated to Star Wars and then I left it all behind for music.
Not that I'm 37 and with the advent of the internet culture, I've managed to go back to my penchants such as collecting pop culture stuff, including things like Giant Robot, Ultraman, Star Wars figures, Gorengers figures, mini coopers and rickenbackers.
I'm glad I'm on here and now I will shut up. Thanks for being great folks and making things fun around here. Now I'm off to customize, which I've slowly worked into. I guess I should post pics with what I've done so far.
Cheers
Ed

Hello everyone. My name is Jessica. I will be 42 this year and have 3 boys. I never grew up with Megos, but I came upon this site looking for POTA-related pictures. Someday soon I am going to make a mini Ape-City in my backyard and play there with my 3 sons.
I bought my POTA Megos in October of 2007 and decided that I wanted to also have a gallery as an MM customizer. I do not see myself as a collector but I do see myself as a crafter. I have so much fun making clothes for these little guys...it's become quite an obsession lately. My charity knitting work has gone by the wayside I'm afraid. This is a great forum and I have learned a lot and am meeting new friends. What more could you ask for?
My name is Tony and I live in Fort Worth. I remember seeing Action Jackion on "Slam Bang Theater" (a local kid show) and I was hooked! I am 42 and have many of my original Megos from when I was a boy..all in "played with condition". I have slowly been trying to restore my collection and pop in to this site from time to time over the years. Heres a funny story, as a small boy I had multiple clark kents and peter parkers outfits that i got from a trip to the Wards over the years.. however over the years I cut up all the suits for my "primitive customs"...oh the pain...the pain!!
Welcome to all you new members ...and to the rest of you old guys and gals RASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSP!!:googly:
Hi ! My name is Kevin. I actually joined this forum back in November, 2007. However, due to hectic work schedule and holidays I haven't been able to spend any time on the forum until now. Anyway, like most grown-ups I now have financial means to re-live my childhood by collecting (nostalgic) toys again. With this forum, I'm hoping to learn more about Megos and related products.
hi my name is kerry
i own a used bookstore in franklin mass
been a long time mego fan [just wish i had the ones i grew up with.
i have my own message board called rockin rebels
Rockin Rebels
i collect batgirl , batman and kiss stuff mainly
Hi Kerry,
I've got a lot of Batman stuff myself. No Megos, unfortunately. Some ToyBiz, and lots of Kenner stuff, especially the Animated Series. They did quite a few paint variations! If you're looking for anything LMK and I'll check for it.
I miss the used bookstore we had here. It was awesome, even carried comics, that's where I started into Batman comics, like Dark Knight, and then Batman figures and trading cards. When they opened a Borders 2 miles from her store, she went out of business.
This is an interesting place, all kinds of stuff. Enjoy!
hey everybody, my name is Matt...i've been doing customs for awhile now...mostly smaller scale stuff(marvel legends, etc) and recently have gotten into the famous covers scale(like megos, but bigger and uhhh..better..ok, that will get me into trouble around here, huh?...so...i'm kidding).....anywho...some of you know me from other groups and through regular, annoying....and sometimes a bit confusing, emails that i send ya...(fred and joe).....but i thought that i would come onboard, mostly 'cuz i was missing being on a forum site....so, hope this helps...and I look forwards to hearing and sharing from you all...
thanks, glad to be here..so far.....
Man, you email Fred, too?? I thought I was the only one. :smiley1:
