    Halloween 1974

I know for sure as a kid I'd be torn between Planet of the Apes or Batman but Kwai Chang Caine would totally be my bronze that year.

I still have my Ben Cooper Batman playsuit. How it survived all these years, I have no idea!

Does anyone know- When was the Cooper Batman suit first sold and for how many years was it produced? Also, was it always the same design, or did it change over the years? And finally, was there a licensed costume that had a longer run?

Where's BenCooperMuseum.com when you need it?

        According to Wikipedia-
"it licensed Spider-Man, a virtually unknown character at the time, in 1963. The company also licensed the Batman character in 1964."

I assume Spidey was produced for Cooper's entire run so it may have had a longer run. AND Wikipedia reports that Ben Cooper acquired "A.S. Fishbach, Inc.—which had a license to produce costumes based on characters owned by The Walt Disney Company such as Donald Duck and Snow White" in 1937. Again, I assume Copper produced these costumes for their entire run.

The Batman bodysuit didn't change much from what I've seen. The mask changed from a hood with weird little ears and a separate domino mask to the plastic shell mask (with off-model forehead bat-symbol) we all remember.

The design of the cloth playsuit and the vinyl costume were pretty much identical, as I recall. My playsuit was one piece, but earlier versions (I also own one from the 60s) were two piece.

Did you see those Clark Peanut Butter Kisses, in orange and black? Wow, those really bring back the Halloween memories. A candy staple!

Those hard plastic masks, held on with the thinnest rubber band imaginable, were very uncomfortable to wear.

I would have been (and still would be today) that skeleton!

I remember a Halloween episode of Bewitched and one of the kids was wearing the Batman costume. Plus the episode of Venture Bros where Dean was told to wear his best suit. He wore his Ben Cooper Batman costume. This IS my best suit, he said. I concur.

Hank is the Bat, not Dean.

                      Correct.
I love Hank, because he's just so... Batman. The Venture Brothers doesn't belong to me. Just for laughs.

Yea I never could keep them straight and it's been 12 years since I've seen an episode. I think I'm a season behind.
