Everybody's response is going to be different. It all depends on what you collect...so there won't be just one grail. Obviously grails can range from "I never had that as a kid...but always wanted it." to prototypes to test figures/running changes that never panned out. There is a scarcity index that was worked on many years ago and I don't have the link to it here on the museum. That is sort of a guide as to the rarity...but rarity doesn't mean grail to a lot of people. Don't know if that answers your question.

There are the Mego galleries that have each figure and variations on those figures...you may want to use them to see cool one of a kind stuff or prototypes. Again...grail is a loose term in my opinion. One man's junk is another man's treasure as the old saying goes.

Was the Enterprise the Gift Set...or did your Dad load it up with individual figures? The Gift Set is a Grail for a lot of Mego collectors because they are few and far between. I think to this day I've only ever seen 2 or 3 of them online and I've never seen one in person.

A grail to me would be Gray Morrow artwork for the monster's boxes, or an full backdrop piece used for the Knights. There's no produced figure that hits grail status. I think that's why the focus on obscure things like packaging derivatives is so big.

For rarity I think we still have the carded Wonder Woman as the gold standard.

Would Jet Jungle count as a holy grail figure? I guess for me it would be the Alter-Egos.

I think it has to be something that actually existed at one point...

                          My opinion says:

                          MOC Goblin
                          MOC Wonderwoman
                          MOC Iroman

Has an intact WW MOC actually been found? The last I heard there was an empty bubble on card that anyone whos seen it has verified it is real and a WW MOC with a partially separated bubble. I think the very possibly extinct has to be rarer than the extremely rare.
