I'm gutted.
Somehow, I never got the chance to meet George, and that's killing me. I feel like I know him, having met so many of his actors from the Romero community. I've been to Evans City, PA where they filmed Night. I've been to Monroeville where they filmed Dawn and Creepshow. I got to watch Creepshow inside the house seen in the prologue. But I've managed to always miss the opportunity to thank him in person. Creepshow is my favorite horror movie, closely followed by Dawn of the Dead. I love the way he laughed with glee about scaring people, and the tongue in cheek approach he took to his craft. The influence of his talent and approach to making films cannot be understated. This is a crushing loss.
After Adam West and now George A. Romero, 2017 is really making a go at sucking even more than 2016.Comment

He set the bar to which many have tried to duplicate. "Often imitated, but never duplicated." Romero was the BEST!Comment

Martin is such a great movie. I hope it gets a decent Blu Ray release now. It's been decades since I saw it.
Gonna watch Dawn this week for sure.Comment

Crap, this one really hurts. I was a huge fan since I first saw Dawn of the Dead when I was a teen and it blew my mind. I'm glad I had a chance to meet him (and attend a talk he gave) at a con around 10 years ago, I talked to him for a bit, really nice guy, and got him to sign my DOTD script. This sucks...Comment

Remember watching NOTLD on PBS in the 70s on a weekend afternoon, and being forever scarred. Night of the Living Dead was absolute brilliance.Comment
