    Netflix LOST IN SPACE Reboot

New announcement trailer. Show hits 13 April. Too soon to get too much of a vibe, but I really hope the JUPITER 2 looks more like the original version and nothing like the ‘98 version.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Well, at least they brought a future girlfriend for Will this time.

In the old series their decedents were destined to have lobster claw hands

Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson is great casting.

Anything with the adorable Parker Posey, I’m in...as she’s my wife on Earth 2, lol...

Looks good...it seems, even on that teaser...more faithful than the movie with Matt LeBlanc and that stupid cartoon monkey.

That kid reminds me more of Bill Mumy than that horrid kid from the movie as well.

Can’t wait to see both the Robot and Jupiter 2.

See, Mikey? Now you are going to renew your Netflix subscription...

there were elements of the 98 movie i enjoyed (the soundtrack especially), I recently rewatched it and wow, the CGI hasn't aged well.

Agreed. The score is one of the best parts and I kind of liked the armored helmet that Don West had when they were fighting the space-spiders. The J2 looked really cool sitting on it's launch pad and all the way through the launch sequence until the exoshell fell away and gave us the far weirder looking version. Gary Oldman's Smith was good, but the Robot and William Hurt's John Robinson were total fails, IMHO.

98 was a nasty year for remakes, See Lost in Space and Godzilla

Only redeeming quality of LIS 98 was they let Dick Tufeld voice the Robot

Just watched the 98 Lost in Space for the first time a few days ago. It's pretty awful, and yes, the CG is badly dated. It started out with bad banter between the pilots, then settled in and seemed okay once you meet the family. By the last half though, it became a real slog just to get through it. I hope this is better. I think it has to be.

It looks like the show might be based more on The Space Family Robinson considering the change in characters and lack of Doctor Smith
