How was Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome ?

Liked the Road Warrior --- although thought some parts were a little boring and some hard to understand dialog.

Loved Mad Max --- This is The Wrath of Khan compared to Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Never seen Beyond Thunderdome --- I only know it as the "Tina Turner one".

    Is Thunderdome any good ?

For me it was a big let down after the amazing movie that was Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
Beyond Thunderdome is definitely the worst of the original Max trilogy.

I saw it in the theater back in the day, and is a pretty large departure from the first two, but it has charm, good soundtrack and Auntie and Thunderdome!

Mad Max is a lot like Star Wars where Thunderdome is the Return of the Jedi of the trilogy.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Just discussing this with my friends the other day. It’s a real mixed bag, with some very iconic moments and famous quotes, but the second half is bloated and dull. It also has a real Hollywood feel that just doesn’t fit with the prior two, which were low budget, minimal, kinetic masterpieces.

I have a soft spot in my heart for it... but it is definitely the missing link between Mad Max director George Miller and Babe: Pig in the City director George Miller.

                I love Thunderdome.

I recently looked up the opening credit music video.

I had mostly listened to the main theme song before.

A couple things always seemed weird to me.

A few other moments were always awesome.

Now I love all of it.

I find it creative and fun.

I think there is a featurette or something on it somewhere comparing scenes with Mad Max 2.

I think it's a total crap movie! I wish they never would have made it. Tina was a very bad choice. I would avoid at all costs, if I were you.

                    Well, just finished watching it.

Was better than I had expected -- but only cause you guys gave it such a low rating

Second half with the kids didn't make sense … They act like they're a generation after the apocalypses but no adults are around...

I think Tina Turner was "ok" in it … Every time I heard her talk I thought she was going to say, "Nice --- and easy"

Indeed!… so glad Fury Road finally came to right the course.

I can't remember if it was this or Star Man that was the first movie I took a girl to. I'm not terribly fond of it, Hollywood got their hands on an independent series of films that had edge and did what they do best. A few bright moments but you can smell the test screenings and notes.

Oddly enough, my wife who is younger than me, LOVES IT. Odd, the difference three years makes.

                            See Return of the Jedi.

Homelander would’ve loved getting his hands on that tanker, lol.

                              I enjoyed Fury Road too.
