Mego Toys at the Shrine: Sunday!

Rob Chatlin (rchatlin), Mike Armes (marmes) and myself will have a dealer table at this Sunday's (01/13/08) Los Angeles Comic Book & Sci Fi Convention at the Shrine Auditorium.

We will have a broad range of Mego figures, MOC, MIB and Loose; everything from loose Spider-Man figures to a MIB Shazam to a MOC Lizard will be on display and available for purchase. We'll also have Super Powers Collection items (including a MOC U.S. Cyborg), Secret Wars and Japanese toys including Shogun Warriors, Popy heroes and Medicom figures. It will be a vintage toy lover's dream. I will also have copies of the Mego book on hand and can sign books for anyone interested in acquiring an inscribed edition.

Rob, Mike and I will post pictures of the event here, after the show, but if anyone is in Southern California, we'd love it if you stopped by the show. We actually have two tables, and we'd love to see you there. Here's the info:

    Shrine Auditorium
    Expo Center
    700 West 32nd St.
    Los Angeles, CA

The official Web site for the con is here:

Los Angeles Comic Book & Sci Fi Convention

Hope to see you there. Pictures to follow.

                  and I was there today...

Took my drive to the Shrine to meet Benjamin, Rob and Mike. They have a wonderful collection of Mego for sale, also they showed me a nice Spiderman with circle logo and Bruce Wayne. I brought my camera but I forgot to charge my battery, so I use my cellphone to take a couple of pics. I am sorry for the poor quality of the pics. I bought Ben's book and he signed for me, thanks a bunch!!! I got an Isis from them too. I wish I had more money but I came with a budget and my goal was to get Ben's book.

                    Jay,
thanks for stopping by and posting the pics.

Benjamin, Mike and I had great time Sunday, if only in our booth.
While foot traffic and sales where what were a little underwhelming,
we all have high hopes for the next show in February. So if you're in the LA area, please make plans to stop by.

Here are a few more pics of our booth. Some stuff was there simple as eye candy and the up the "wow!" factor. If you see anything you like, it might still be available.

WOW!! I dare say that was the most Megos seen there in quite a while. Wish I was out west again.

I think that's the best Mego booth you could ever hope to find. Wow.

What's that WGT poster with all the figures on it?

                            Thanks, everyone,
it was really 8 hours of Mego overload -
in fact, I think we had too much stuff on the tables.

We evoked a lot of memories for nearly everyone who stopped by the booth,
and those that were most interested in Mego walked away with Museum cards - hopefully it will generate a few new members here.

                            Scott,
as for the poster, I suggest you direct that question to Mr. Holcomb.

Hey Ben, what's up with that super cool WGT poster?

By the way, I was supposed to send Rob cards for this show and I wasn't able to do it in time. My bad.
