Oh boy, it's "grim and gritty!" I was looking forward to this show before I watched this. This is not the Titans I fell in love with (George Perez / Marv Wolfman comics). I hate to think what the kids who grew up with the cartooons will think when they see this. At least the DC movies seem to be lightening up with Shazam, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman. I guess DC's streaming service didn't get the memo. -
clearly not aimed to appeal to the kids. visuals look good, not sure how I feel about how dark it is.Comment

This is Marvel Netflix envy pure and simple. The thing is characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, etc. have been dark in the comics for decades. Titans? Mature themes, sure at times. This dark and gritty? No.
Why not adapt something that actually would work with this treatment?
My 16 year old is trying to convince me otherwise, but I have almost zero interest in this now.

I was eager to watch this series. I was not expecting the F word, to be sure. I was eager to see a darker portrayal of Raven than we saw in the classic Perez/Wolfman comics. And that would have been an interesting contrast for the team members, as it was originally intended. I think it is way too early to pass judgement on Robin's behavior, not knowing the plot and motivations, but I am concerned. As always for me, it is a wait and see.I post in thy general direction!Comment

Read a short article about this trailer from CBR.com and they point out the alley scene is "strikingly reminiscent of a scene that happened during Teen Titans Season 5’s “Go!,” an episode that revealed what each member of the team’s life was like just prior to the Titans forming… which is the entire premise of Titans."

I think the alley scene with Robin works better like this (with no F-word or mentioning Batman by name): It starts at the 56 second mark. I tried to get the link set to start there automatically but it's not working right from the post.

Sorry, Robin was raised a lot better than that. More pay tv money saved. Thanks OP!!You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

And when it doesn't have to be. That's what bothers me about it. I'm not opposed to dark, nasty and graphically violent but I don't feel it fits with the (Teen) Titans. I figure the built in audience would have been the ones of us from Perez/Wolfman days or the ones who grew up with the Murakami series. Neither group will recognize their Titans in this, I would think.Comment

Sorry this is trash...bottom line...
1.Dick Grayson does not act like this disrespectful of Batman and killing people? This is Jason Todd NOT Dick Grayson
2.Raven looks and acts like the girl form The Ring....Bad
3.No Cyborg
4.Beast Boy looks like a cheap version of the Joker
5.Starfire.....She's supposed to be a orange skinned alien right?
6.The guy playing robin looks like he's in his 30's not a teenager
7.No Kid Flash
8.Why so Dark DC?
9.You have to drop $60-75 upfront to get this on DC streaming service...You can't pay every month like the rest of the streaming providers...No thanks!Comment

It's $7.99 per month, or $74.99 per year. So now you only have 8 reasons to hate it!Comment
