    Monster Squad on Super Mates

Cindy and I are joined once again by our son Andrew, this time to discuss an annual Halloween tradition here at Castle Franklin-Stein, 1987's The Monster Squad! Then we tackle Super Friends #10, featuring the JLA vs. a gaggle of monsters! Morals are learned, Wolfman genitalia is discussed, and a good time is had by all! Give her a listen!

Monster Squad is a favorite of mine, just a fun movie. I watched with a friend and his two young sons a couple of weeks ago and we all had fun.

I hadn't thought of that issue of Super Friends in a while. What could be better than monsters and super heroes together in one comic? While the actual comic didn't live up to the anticipation, I miss this kind of stuff in comics today. Seasonal stories don't fit the trades and get shuffled off to specials and sometimes lesser talents.

Oh well, it's nice to reminisce about the film and comic

Yeah, you're not likely to get a good hero/monster meet-up in the monthlies nowadays.

Monster Squad is just a lotta fun. It's not perfect, but you can tell everyone involved was really engaged, and it's infectious.
