What to buy first? Or too many toys at once!

With FTC ,Neca, bif bang pow, etc. making all this great stuff I dont know what to buy first.
So much of this stuff is small run and I have limited funds and a wife that keeps a close eye on the money I spend. I need you guys to help me figure what new stuff to buy first.
I already have all the redone Trek other than the Mirror mirror ones.
All the Dr Who except the Dalek
I need two DC retro action figs
I need two of the retro monsters.
    And two more apes.

in FTC I only have the alfred wave. Just ordered the 1966 boxing batman, boxing riddler, clown joker and grey suit joker.
I want all the new stuff and I need to buy it in the right order......if I get it wrong some of this stuff is going to go way up in price and I wont end up with it or I will have to pay way more.
I AM ALSO TRYING TO REBUILD MY VINTAGE MEGO COLLECTION!
My first thought was buy the reissues that I dont have vintage.
Then I saw the reissue Spidy and Cap ......drool.
Now I got to thinking about all the new fist fighters.....more drool.
In other words too many toys not enough money.

HELP! What would you get first out of all the new stuff ?
Maybe this could work like a what do you think is hot, whats not list.
For example the two packs coming out are limited to 100
The boxing Batman to 600 but I think its cooler and will sell out and be more costly down the road.
Looking forward to some input because I know some of you guys have to be trying to work this all out too.

It is tough, FTC has brought us so much stuff you would figure it would be there for some time to come, but in their infinite wisdom they have decided to RETIRE their series's upon sell outs. Leaving you to the mercy of the third party sellers on e bay. Then their spacing is leaving a lot to be desired as well. The first and second waves were spaced too far apart now all of their stuff is being release at once.
I have been a very BIG Supporter of FTC so far both Vocally and Financially. To date I have been in for 2 sets of all of the WGSH waves and 3 sets of all of the Batman 66 waves. When I stepped back and looked at it thats a lot of money to date.
I guess what you or should I say I am hoping for is that these flop on the second hand market and somewhere down the line we will be able to pick them up for discounted prices, because at this rate i'm not going to be able to keep up... Best Advice I can give is see what your biggest needs and wants are and go at it that way.

I was thinking of slowing down on vintage mego and getting them later, but then the chance of having even more repro stuff mixed with vintage gets stronger. It coulg become like 12 in joe ,that hobby just about fell apart.
My first thought was to buy two of everything, but now there is just way too much.
Then I saw that FTC just keeps pushing up the price on everything.
I was going to buy etra Conan waves but they cost at least $5 more a figure.
If they fail on the secondary market then it will hurt the new toy sales,so we will end up with less to choose from....
I know how you feel on what you have spent,I have gone through a few grand in the last two years on just mego and mego like stuff (cant tell total) wife might see.

Only the Conan series has a price increase due to the license (IIRC). And Super Powers because they are Fist Fighters, not regular body ReMegos.

The rest of the items have remained at the same price of $24.99 at FTC so far.

Look at all of the exclusives they are $10 more then normal figures. I really dont think they cost that much more to make. Same with the two packs. I understand with the fist fighters. It should not cost more for two figures on one card than two on two cards.

They are also produced in much smaller numbers, same with the 2-packs.

You said you were trying to rebuild your vintage Mego collection. Loose or carded? You can get some good deals on eBay, you just have to hunt for them. For example, a few weeks ago I won an original carded Mego Spiderman for less than the upcoming 3-pack. If you are ok with a repro emblem, you could probably find an original Mego Cap America with repro emblem for $80 loose.

There's definitely too much out there right now. Which is far better than there being too little.

I have a sweet vintage cap and spidey loose. I do boxed and carded too. Those new three packs are nice and with the new items are a must have. I just feel a little like I am drowning in new stuff,by the time I get money for what is out, more comes up. After years of nothing we now have a glut.

In manufacturing, the lower the run, the more the cost per figure. That's why most exclusive figures, even at retail, tend to run higher than the regular price for the general run figures. From what we know, these are much smaller runs than the norm, and, even without much new tooling, that's still going to have a big effect on the cost of making them.

I understand the normal reason for exclusives to cost more ,the thing is these short runs on the two packs is BULL because its just the same toy repacked, you order so many bubbles and print the card. The exclusives have just been a different outfit or a mild paint change. The boxing gloves might have already existed. Seems to me like almost no tooling needed. In other words the standard bump the cost because fans will pay. We cant go with the they are not making many excuse because they are using the same body over and over, same head etc. so its a nice mark up item that sells fast and Im fine with it in a way as long as they dont over play the small number higher price game to many times.

Just buy the stuff you like the most. I've never seen so many toys available in my life from all of these companies. I have a feeling stuff will be around for a while.

First of all none of this stuff will ever go up in value, maybe the odd figure, as we have seen wonder woman in the mattel line. Dont go mental and buy things that are limited edition, because of the number. Trust me somewhere down the line U will be able to buy all this at bargain prices. The only worth while stuff to get from this company has to be the "batman 66" so far, I just find the rest to look cheap.

Batman Wave 3 figures are already selling for $35-50 each and they were $25 each in July.

                          Hi Alex
I wish I could say you are right but in the short term many of these should go up in price. Heres why ,new toys = new collectors.....some come in later and try to get one of everything, some of us buying as we can will have gaps and be looking to fill them in....the least ordered items will become harder to get and a slow over all price increase will happen. The only thing that will stop it is if FTC remakes the toy each time demand increases.
I can list a lot of remego items that have already done this.

POTOS you are right about wave 3 and that is why I bought it right away. I think Alfred will keep going up. The other figures should stall for a little while, because of repacking them already or putting them on FF bodies. I dont think we will see a FF Alfred.

Also if you guys are buying the horror movie NECA stuff you need to jump on it they are going up super fast,I thought about it but think I will stay with just the Universal Monsters for space reasons....but might buy Eddie from iron maiden.

For those that say buy what you like.....I like it ALL,that is the problem. Also I am already a little mental because I will try to get one of everything......stupid brain knows I dont have all the toys and goes all OCD ....look on ebay, look on the forum, look on ebay, look on the forum, go to EE,go BBTS,back to ebay....and that is just the next half hour. DAMN OCD.

skullface, my toy collecting OCD has it so if my UHAUL storage area (ALL toys of mine & some of my daughters from when she was lil like Barbies & vintage Strawberry Shortcake) or God forbid my apartment goes up in flames, I'll have a big melted BALL of Plastic that would of been worth tens of thousands of dollars! Damn OCD has me buying many multiples of so many of my toys, not to mention all the stand alone items! OCD toy collecting has me owning a lot of stuff that at one point I could have sold for a huge premium, but after the lines get canceled the resale value plummeted! My biggest collection JLU (Justice League Unlimited) by Mattel has mostly dropped in value to the point I want to cry, not because of having my loose & MIB collection of JLU I'd NEVER SELL, but due to having 3rd & 4th of almost everything MIB that at their high points were selling for MANY times over the retail price I paid for them. I also bought x42 Parademons (x22 2-paCKS), 24 /MANHUNTER ROBOTS, 20 OMACs & all of them were later discounted for clearance prices AFTER I stupidly paid FULL retail + taxes (+ S/H + taxes for Parademons).

*BUT, the re-mego tuff varies! I can buy EMCE Cheron, Kirk, KLINGON, Andorian, Mugato & others for bargain prices.....BUT, I stupidly didn't buy more than x2 Romulans & now I need 2-3 more & can't buy them at $100+ each! I also bought about x4 GORNs & wish I'd bought 1-2 more! I also had the BONES emblem fall off my loose & MIB EMCE Dr. McCoy figs....& he doesn't goe cheap either, or Sulu, or Khan. So you are right, these smaller run figures will go UP in price.....some of FTC will end up discounted, but NOT all!

BUY what ypu love & go for the older stuff first before they go up, besides wave 1 Batman as BBTS still has that & Wave 2 is still on CTVT/FTC sites.
*** Just keep checking for deals like you said you are & keep watching those prices! Good Luck buddy!

invisiblelad I think you and I would get along fine. I built a pretty sick jlu set until Matty collector ****ed me off then I dumped almost all of it to kids at a few toy shows. I sold them above retail but below the going rate at the time....****ed off some other toy sellers but made a lot of kids happy....I have a few still kicking around if you need more...lol.
on the Trek stuff I had a few extras and sold some off, then my stickers fell off on a few too. If you really need a few more romulans I have a few extras that are open, no cards or bubbles ,I bought a large lot and that is how I got them. I had them on display, but with all the new stuff coming out I dont have the space right now til I get rid of some 12in dolls. I told the wife I would go to just mego scale. She is glad I did, because I just discovered Kaustic plastik. I bought the Conan.
I was smart enough to tell her upfront that all RE Howard stuff was fair game. Also dont feel bad about the toy OCD, I owned a toy store for many years and most of the people I now in the hobby have it. Transformer guys are the worst ones...then some SW guys. Then some of us collect every thing.....I am healing because I no longer need every cool toy that comes out.
