Super friends: The legendary super powers show turn 30

For any fans of the Super Friends, I thought it would be well worth mentioning that 30 years ago in 1984, ABC Network brought back a missed favorite. Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show debuted at 8:30 on Saturday Morning. The Super Friends were back with Firestorm making his debut as the newest member. Wonder Woman had a makeover in costume and in voice. Adam West began voicing over Batman while the other Batman voice over Olan Soule voiced over Professor Stein. We were also introduced to Darkseid, Kalibak, and Desaad, and we saw Lex Luthor in his new power suit, the new Brainiac, and a one time appearance of the Mirror Master. This series made the Kenner Super Powers Toyline even more desirable.

Anyway, thought I'd give this a mention.

Total foggy memory resurfacing: Didn't the TV Guide ad for ABC's 1984 Saturday morning have all the characters on a roller coaster? I seem to recall Supes, Bats and WW all waving from the back, telling me SF was back on the air.

I was glad to see SF had "grown-up" ever so slightly when it came back. I was 9 years old, and wanted a bit more character-development and less zany science at that age. And for the most part, this season delivered. Next season, albeit very short, was even better!
