Vintage Toy Store Photos Volume 16

In an effort to combat the end of summer blues, I've dig deep to the days of Pegboard and regional toy stores to bring the 16th edition of our vintage toy stores feature.

Installment 16 features old favorites such as the Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar Man, Barbie, the Osmonds, Atari, Fisher Price, Mego Diana Ross and much more.

We explore such long forgotten chains such as Bambergers, Two Guys as well as local toy emporiums such as The Toy Shoppes and Youngtown.

Red tag sale? I wonder what they had them priced at?

Are you sure you numbered this right? I think your archive only goes up to 14. Wouldn't that make this colume 15?

Cindy was happy to see those Barbie pics. I always love these pics. You can just imagine your younger, shorter self going nuts in there.

I'm so glad, I have a ton of these and wondered if I'm reaching the right folks. Being a former boy, I tend to lean towards their toys.

I thought it was very cool too. I've never seen such a huge display of Western Barbie.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I can never remember going into a Toy specific store in Canada. Sears, Zellers, K-Mart, Woodwards had good toy sections. England had some awesome toy stores when I was there in 83-84. I love to see the vintage pictures.

My favorite pic was in #14 the kids in front of the huge 80s figure display.

I guess in some stores they really went out of their way to let you know you was entering the Barbie aisle. I am in awe over those displays.

If you ever come across them, I'd love to see vintage store displays of Strawberry Shortcake and Jem.

That is definitely a Diana Ross doll you spotted on the shelf of my beloved Two Guys. I'm not sure, but I think there could be a Toni Tennelle leaning right next to it. That would lead lead me to ask if Jaclyn Smith is the figure done, but I don't think so. The coloring and perhaps the letter font seem right, but the size of the words on the side of the box don't seem to match.
