But, to pick a few, I would say:
ELO: Mister Blue Sky
Supertramp: Breakfast in America
The Who: Reign o'er Me... or 5:15
Pretenders: My City Was Gone
Tom Petty : that "Running" song whose title I cannot just now recall
Heart: Straight On
John Cougar: I Need A Lover (the only tolerable song he ever made)
King Harvest (or an I getting loopy?): Dancing in the Moonlight
Radar Love... why am I now spacing out the name of the Group?
Aw... it's really late and my eyes are getting droopy. I can't think straight, much less remember awesome songs. Gotta get up in just a few hours to hit an enormous flea marketComment

Oh-----yeeeaaaahhhhh!! "RADAR LOVE" by Golden Earring is a MUST!!!
I would say they should throw a little KISS on it, but Gene and Paul would likely want too much $$$ for that to happen.
Maybe a little "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" or "Wheel in the Sky" by Journey...?sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

I think the point of the soundtrack was campy 70''s songs...Come & Get Your Love...Hooked On A Feeling...Escape.....Not In Love Keeping with that idea and the fact that all of these songs were from the mom and a little bit groovy (which puts Kiss out right away) Id go with songs like:
Just Remember By Firefall
Magic by Pilot
Till I Saw The Light by Todd Rungren
How Long by Ace
My Maria by BJ Stevenson
It Never Rains In Souther California by Albert Hammond
Dancing In The Moonlight By King Harvest
Baby Come Back by Player
Jackie Blue by Ozark Mountain Dare Devils
Reflections of My Life by The Marmalade
Alone Again by Gilbert OSullivan
Sunshine Superman by Donovan
Clouds By Joni Mitchel
What A Fool Believes by The Doobie Brothers
Super Star by the Carpenters
Don't Mess Around With Jim by Jim Croce
Hitchin A Ride by Vantiy Fair
Amie by Pure Prarie League
Evil Woman by ELO
Rocket Man by Elton John"Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

I am actually remixing the movie soundtrack for a "better" CD for my car. That means eliminating the David Bowie song (Moonage Daydream), and adding a couple others to fill the CD. I'm not a huge fan of "Cherry Bomb," but I'm leaving it in the mix because my wife likes it. I don't want to purchase a bunch of new music, so I am pretty much limiting myself to songs I have available. Some of these already exist on CDs that I keep in my car, and I probably mentioned one or two in my earlier post.
I had started by posting the short list of new candidate songs, but with 80 minutes of recording time, I was able to add MOST of my choice songs to the CD. Those that did NOT make my final cut are the following:
Little River Band: "Reminiscing"
Mungo Jerry: "In The Summertime"
BJ Stevenson: "My Maria"
Todd Rundgren: "Hello, It's Me"
Gallery: "Nice To be With You"
Atlantic Rhythm Section: "So Into You"
Free: "All Right Now"
--------------------------------------
The Remix is complete. Here's the new track list for my "Awesome Mix Vol. 1.2":
Amie (4:19) Pure Prairie League
I Want You Back (3:00) The Jackson 5
Ain't No Mountain High Enough (2:29) Tammi Terrell
Go All The Way (3:23) The Raspberries
*Beach Baby (5:17) First Class
Fooled Around And Fell In Love (4:37) Elvin Bishop
*Love Is The Drug (4:09) Roxy Music
The Air That I Breathe (4:10) The Hollies
Come and Get Your Love (3:28) Redbone
Spirit In The Sky (4:04) Norman Greenbaum
Cherry Bomb (2:20) The Runaways
Escape / The Piña Colada Song (4:39) Rupert Holmes
I'm Not In Love (6:05) 10cc
Brandy (3:04) Looking Glass
O-o-h Child (3:16) The Five Stairsteps
*Sky High (2:53) Jigsaw
*Dance With Me (3:31) Orleans
Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? (3:19) Chicago
Precious And Few (2:46) Climax
Hooked On A Feeling (2:53) Blue Swede
*Lake Shore Drive (3:55) Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah
But because I am burning a copy of this for my son (over whose lifetime I have attempted to share my taste in music, just like in the movie), I am adding these to his disc, but needed to make room by omitting those with an asterisk ( * ) in the preceding list:
Don't Call Us We'll Call You (3:12) Sugarloaf
Taxi (6:43) Harry ChapinLast edited by SentientApe; Sep 14, '14, 3:44 PM.Comment

Oddly enough, I can picture a high-octane fight combined with "Dancing" by the Bee Gees.....

Joy To The World would work good. I would have suggested Shambala but with it being in that one ad,it might be thought of as being overplayed. As for me,I'd go with Argent's Hold Your Head Up. Or maybe some Grand Funk Railroad. Locomotion would work.Comment
